Great Well Made Flip Wallet
This is the third Dosh Magic Flip Wallet I have purchased for my son as a present over several years. His last one came apart, but he had it for several years...too long. The first wallet he misplaced after one year, but not before replacing it with the second wallet since he loved the color of it much more.An interesting story is that my adult son, an engineer in a design field, (and is actually quite picky and a designer as well) had been using a flip wallet that he made himself out of duct tape...and though it worked and looked fine, I saw this Dosh wallet and the bright colors in came in and bought it for him years ago, and he was hooked on them ever since. My son is a minimalist, and he does not want weight or excess in any way. He lives in the city and walks and bikes a lot, and he just loves the small size and convenience of this wallet and how well it flips open. He loves the bright colors, but I was pressed for time and got the Tangerine with Grey that was in stock. His last wallet was turquoise and tangerine. (Yes, it actually matched his cell phone at the time.) They are identical except for color, of course...and very nice. I love how clean and neat the wallet looks when closed too. It has no sharp edges.

Extremely happy with it.
Was supervised by the wallet. It's comfortable, it feels like fake skin and soft rubber, yet sturdy, but squish material. The Credit card slots fit all standards size cards and the inside can hold cash (clumped up) inside the band. It was able to hold 5, $20 dollar bills folded ($100) and possibly a little more. The minimum I used was $7 dollars a $5 and two dollar bills and it stayed in place even after test drops.. You can also add multiple cards, ID, drivers licence, debit etc inside as well. It's not recommended, (since they have slots on the outside for 4 cards) but I tried it and they stayed in place even after doing 3 drop test. The interesting thing was finding out why they called it "Magic Wallet". When you have items inside the band, you can open from either side (left or right) and whatever you have inside the bands stay held in place. Originally, I was under the idea you could only open it from one spot, sorta like mini case that locks in place. Until I noticed I could open it by folding from any side (left or right). The items inside the band stay in place, almost giving an illusion they transfer over. Something you really have to see for yourself. (Hard to describe)Very happy with it, simply because it's not overly minimal to the point that cards fit inside and just a rubber band holding everything place like so many minal cases I keep stumbling on. This feels more secure, solid and something in your hand, cards and cash don't move around loose. Nothing feels like it's going to slide out. Cool wallet, I'm even picking up another one as a stocking stuffer for a buddy of mine and later on buying a solid metal one for myself.WARNING: After about two weeks of use, id say the wallet is very soft and comfortable as I stated before "mushy". Some may or may not like that. All depends on personal preference, this wallet is something I would use for going out with the guys for a night out, beach or everyday use. More sporty than anything. if you want a more solid feel they also offer hard case minimal wallets and Aluminium kind from the same designer.

Nice wallet, but can be bulky
The intent of the wallet, like all Dosh products, is that it is thin, minimalistic, rugged, pragmatic, and stylish.Thin:This wallet is not exactly very thin. I also own a 6 card lux by dosh. The magic wallet is thicker slightly when only holding 4 cards and no cash compared to 6 cards and 7 folded bills in the lux. When the bills are moved to the magic wallet, its thickness increases noticeably. If you don't like having much in your pants pockets, this might not be for you. The wallet seems more for a jacket pocket, where thickness won't be as much of an issue. Considering the average bi- or tri-fold, the magic wallet is thinner but not thin enough if you ask me. In its natural resting state, the internal bands do not compress very well which causes the wallet to take on a slight 'V' shape. It's slightly thicker and wider than a classic iPod. Verdict: Improvement desired.Minimalistic:It only holds 4 cards and a fairly decent amount of bills/receipts. Verdict: Mission accomplished.Rugged:While it may FEEL cheap and like crappy plastic, you can trust me when I say it is definitely NOT flimsy or weak. If you want to damage this wallet, you need to purposefully attack it with a knife, scissors, sander, or some other implement of destruction. There is almost no foreseeable way you can damage this wallet through the course of normal wear and tear. You could probably traumatize the bands or card slots, but you'll definitely need to put some effort into it. You'll probably scuff it infrequently with little, superficial marks if you store it in the same pocket as your keys. Verdict: Overkill.Pragmatic:It's very simple to insert new bills into the wallet. Fold, put them in, flip, done. As for cards, I find the slots a comfortable tightness. They're easy to pinch and pull out, but they won't come loose on their own. Inserting a card is more difficult than I would like. I have to support the bottom of the wallet so it won't shear as I attempt to return the card to its home. It certainly makes me feel like its going to hold my plastic with a death-grip. 4 cards is less space than I need, but I won't fault a 4-card wallet for only have 4 slots. The quantity of bills it can hold comfortably is around 20 folded (40 layers). After that, it begins to become a trial to add more. Additionally, when there is only one or two bills, they are a bit loose on the side with a single band. They will shift, but I have yet to see any fall out. The rubberized interior is good at gripping. Receipts will fall right out though if there isn't enough other stuff. Verdict: Pretty good.Stylish:Well, it definitely has a distinctive and sleek look when only holding cash. Cards sticking out of it do break up the appearance in a noisy way, but that might just be the cards I have stuck in there. If you're a stickler for it looking 'perfect' you have to be careful which card you put where. I don't think that most cards complement the wallet very well. They tend to clash. Verdict: Don't know if it can be helped, but this is completely subjective.Overall:It's a good wallet. It's not amazing, horrible, or mediocre. It does what it advertises to, but not with as small of a profile as one would like given that it's a Dosh wallet. I give it a 3.5 out of 5. If it was thinner, I'd give it a 4.Extra:- The poly exterior does make this wallet slide a bit easily if you give it a nudge on a flat surface. Since the cards do deflect somewhat, they create small contact points with low friction thereby exacerbating the lack of grip.- The card slots are stiff, but I haven't seen them damage a card yet.- It can be difficult to insert the cards so that they are level with each other (just an OCD thing)
