My desktop died recently - but it was clear that the two drives in the old desktop were still working and contained lots of photographs etc., which were not backed up elsewhere.In particular I wanted to be able to use my old hybrid drive - without having to go to the hassle of installing it in another computer.Looked around at various options to convert the old internal drive to an external drive and decided on this value option.Arrived next day (isn't Amazon Prime great).Read the instructions - opened the cover - inserted the drive - closed the cover (opening and closing a little bit fiddly) and connected it to one of my computers - where it was instantly recognised.Fully operational in two minutes - with access to everything saved on the drive.Now my old (non portable) internal drive has become a portable external drive - what more can you ask - and all at a very reasonable price.

Great USB3 enclosure.Purchased this to plug into my NAS. It works just how I wanted it to. Used for storing video files and automatically goes into sleep mode when not in use, saving power and wear on the hard drive.Detected by all devices on the network and will play 4k video on my android TV via VLC without any problem.

Good Enclosure but I think a little more thought into the lid to open like a hinged lid would be better (opening and closing a little bit fiddly) Saying that it works fine. I wouldn't recommend buying it.

After some time trying to find an HDD for my Panasonic tv I found this and took a chance and ordered it I was very pleased with the results it did what it said on the box and worked as soon as it was plugged in

I purchased this to replace an old usb 2.0 caddy. It would of had more stars, but the build is very flimsy, it looks far more substantial than it actually is. The lid was difficult to remove, but once achieved it was easy to install the HDD. However on the second use it wouldn't fire up, on investigation I found one leg of the transformer had parted company with the circuit board. This because the circuit board flexes as you push home the power lead, it was easily fixed with the trusty Antex. I could really do with the power connector fixed to the case, instead of just the circuit board. Overall as long as you are gentle with it, it will do the job!!!

The had drive is powered via AC cable (included). The plug and play enclosure will work on most operating systems without additional drivers needing to be installed, and can be connected to any host system using the included data cable, and the enclosure supports drives upto 10TB in size. Installing of a hard drive is easy simply power off, slide off the top cover and slot in a suitable hard drive. The enclosure works well enough as I don't have a huge use for it but it's great for data / file transfer from site to site or for general backups or operating system rebuilds. Overall reasonably priced does the job.

God stuff but I think a little more thought into the lid and make it open like a hinged lid would be better.Saying that it works super fine and I only have the one hard drive to use in it so I will not be swapping it it for any other hard drive. WELL WORTH 5 STARS IN MY OPINION.Seems to work really quick too on the USB 3 and I use a Western Digital Green in this.The only problem with a Western Digital Green is that it keeps powering down after a few minutes and then takes time to spin up again but there is a way to stop this in power management. However that is nothing to do with this unit it is a Western Digital thing to save on power.
