Fat Bike Rim Strips 26" x 80mm

These fit perfectly on my Sondors ebike. I have ffit two sets. The first ones I fit right out of the package and you have to pry them on just like you would a road race tire onto a 700C rim. Its not easy and once over the rim lip you have to go to considerable trouble to remove folds and imperfections that come from such a difficult, tight fitment procedure.For the second pair I wised up: I put a pot of hot water on the stove on low heat. Not quite boiling. When it came time to unbolt a wheel I put the rim strip for that wheel in the pot. By the time the wheel was ready for the application, I used tongs to grab the rim strip out of the pot and went straight to the rim. It is safe to handle as soon as it is out of the water. Put the rapidly cooling rim strip on the rim immediately and you will find it is easy to fit. Its also easier to perfectly center the air valve hole after fitment.

Thicker material than stock. Blue looks much better on my white wheels than black did. These strips are a little small as others have mentioned. I used the two person method and just stretched the edge over the opposite side after lining up the valve hole. It hurt the fingers a bit, now that its done I'm wondering if it would have been easier to use the tire removal spoons that aren't really necessary with a fat tire, my tires come off the rim by hand with little effort. Maybe I have small wheel or strong fingers, who knows. Love the new rim strips.

WAY too small for fat bike rims. I work on fat bikes a lot and I have mounted a lot of rim strips, but I could not get these mounted. I tried the hot water trick, I tried the hairdryer trick, no luck. They're just too small.

Purchased these to bedazzle my 2017 Salsa Mukluk nx1sus with Surley MOBD 80mm rims. These rim strips appear to be small for the rims, but I think thats how there supposed to be. With a little help of a hairdryer I was able to work the material a little easier do the job- which took approximately 2 hours from start to finish. I think that if you have the time and the patience, these are a great, if not, I would suggest purchasing the velcro rim tape- like what came with my son's '16 fatboy 24 (which we attached blue reflective tape to the strips- looks really cool).
