Gormiti Starter Pack Series 1: Exclusive Volcano Tribe - Lava

This was for my 6-year old son. He enjoys playing and collecteing these little gormiti figures. Apparently there are various tribes inspired by the different forces of nature. This one happens to be the Volcano tribe. The colorful figurines are very durable with strange, imaginative features and details. He enjoys devising different battle scenarios and storylines. Basically, I see him clashing the different gormiti figures together, then declaring a victor. As long as it encourages healthy, imaginative play, I'm well pleased.

My 5 year old has become obsessed with this collection. The great thing about it is he's learning while he plays because you have to add the cards and corresponding numbers on the feet of the characters. He's memorized most but now can rattle almost any addition out as if he's answering flash cards which is what I remember doing long ago. However, this is much more fun for him. He's actually enjoying the adding up of numbers as much as collecting and pretending. A great toy to get kids to start adding in their heads.

Gormitis have been discontinued so I was fortunate to find this pack. They are small figures (not action figures) that go along with a game. However, my first grader has always played with the figures and has never played the game.

There is little to this collection that you can buy in the U.S. so this is a great start. The boys love these figures and it involves a lot of creative play. Mine dont even use the cards to play as a game. Part of the fun for me is trying to find the figures or playsets. If you do the research you find that Gormiti is the rage in Europe but hasnt really made it here. So look on ebay. I was able to buy lots more from ebay UK. It may be the up and coming toy this next year.

Hi, bought this as a gift for my nephew, he seemed to love it, so I can't complain, I had no negative feedback from him so far.

Do not know the characters or story line of this toy...bought as a gift for my step-grandson and all I can say is he loves it.

My son wanted a Gormiti set and picked this one out. They are pretty cool characters, but the cards need to be taken care of or they get wrecked. Also, the math required seems pretty simple and always the same. You'd really have to mix things up a bit to keep it fresh.

The only problem is that everything comes out overseas first, so he has to wait a while to spend his allowance, or spend quite a bit on shiipping.
