When I received this item, it looks and works like the description, but it looked a bit scratched on the bottom, along with a few other marks. I would not have complained but I was hanging this in a brand new room, not sitting it on a table.I contacted the company, and found out it looks scratched from the molding process, and it is a plastic material, so I understood, but still did not want this hanging in a new room..This company rectified the problem immediately, contacted me with updates and sent me a tracking number for a replacement. I give high regard to the customer service. I got the smaller fireplace version which is a harder plastic and it looks very nice. I am very happy with the lantern and the customer service was outstanding.In good faith, this company responded immediately and rectified the situation.

This little Fireplace Lantern is a wonderful prop, exactly the size I was hoping for. My only problem was, I had to take it all apart to get it to rotate and look as if the smoke and flames actually worked. Thank goodness for being mechanically inclined! It seemed to have a large amount of "goop" to make the gears run, too much. It runs now and I am pleased. I took two stars off because no one should have to take anything apart to make it work.

I bought this for my tiny camper and, although I haven't used it yet in there, I can't wait until my next camping trip. This item is lightweight and a bit fragile but very cute. I love the fireplace effect and the size is perfect for my purposes. The instructions that came with it are OK and refer to the 6-hour timer function. The directions say, "Turn Timer switch to set the 6-hours timer" which doesn't tell you which setting on the switch is for the timer. I had to look at the product listing here on Amazon to find out. Since figuring this out, I put a small piece of tape on the bottom of the lantern and labeled the switch direction for the timer but have not tried this function yet. I hope this lantern lasts a long time because I love it.

I love this thing. Its very cute and works great. Only downfall is that with brand new batteries in it and set on the timer, I only get 4 evenings out of it before I have to replace the batteries. The fireplace itself is inexpensive but the cost of batteries i go through, in this is terrible. Other then that, it works great, is very cute and due to its small size it can be sat almost anywhere.

I bought the fireplace for myself and everything was perfect on it, I loved it so much I ordered one for a lady friend for Christmas who lives in my senior complex since we dont have real fireplaces here,. I knew she would love it too.But when the second one came a piece of the right corner was just hanging on by a thread...in all honesty I think they sent me one that had been returned, because the styrofoam around it was all broken in pieces too.But I live on a very low Social Security income and was not going to pay the postage to return it & dont drive anymore so I didnt want to go thru all the hassle of returning it and when I ordered the 2nd one it did read 2 left in stock.....if I had sent it back I might not have gotten another one......and since the fireplace & the timer worked, I just glued the piece back on.I'm keeping the one that was broken. and giving the first one I bought to the lady friend....But it is cute, and so far works good.I just wished it hadnt been broken on the corner.

I bought this for my son who is in love with all things that glow at night and fire! I liked this gift as it is heatless. However, a few issues, I wish it made a fire noise, I ended up buying a fire noise maker to put behind this fireplace to make it more real. And when I got it, it didn't work. I ended up opening it up and saw that one of the leads from the battery casing had become detached from the part that made the "fire". So since Christmas is close and I am afraid if I return this for a replacement, I won't have it in time, we are going to buy a soldering gun and fix it ourselves. I really think our 8-year-old will love this, it's bigger than I thought it would be (I did read the dimensions before buying). I think this is going to be a well-used gift over the next few years! I do think I overpaid a bit for this item as it was broken, and it is made of very cheap materials, especially when I opened it up and saw the "fire" It could break very easily. All in all, if you are looking for a neat fireplace gift for your child I would see if you find one similar but cheaper and I hope you already own a soldering gun!

This is a small fireplace that is purely decorative. It just happens to be just what my mother required because the facility where her apartment is now located will not allow residents to have REAL fireplace heaters. My mother had a real fireplace or a gas operated one most of her adult life. She enjoyed sitting in front of it and watching TV or reading. This gave her some of that FEELING. We actually bought 2 and placed one on either side of a chest in her den. She wanted to get more and I am trying to talk her out of it because there is such a thing as too much but that is how much she likes them.

I am sooo in love with this little fire place! It's perfect in my MicroStudio to set a beautiful ambiance and is such a great entertainment piece! The flames looks very realistic and the timer means I can decorate around it and not have to keep flipping it over to turn on, it automatically turns on at 7pm and shuts off around 10:15. It does take 3 C batteries, and with the timer set they seem to last about 3 weeks! Love it, such a conversation starter and makes my home feel cozy! Cuddling up to binge netflix with hot cocoa is just on another level with this!

I don't know why so many people are remarking here that there is no heat. Of course there isn't. This thing is small and plastic and runs off batteries. How on Earth would it possibly produce any heat? In any case, it's a fun little gift and actually looks pretty good for what it is.

I spray painted mine white to match my decor and I love it!

I love the fire effect and the fact that it uses batteries and is easy to move. I keep it on my coffee table in front of the tv and it is actually soothing and relaxing. Great on these cold winter nights.Edited to add that I like this so much I am buying another one! Just have to decide on the size. When one lives in a one-bedroom apartment, this is just the extra ambiance I like.

The item I received did not have the six hour timer. That was not vital but still when something is supposed to be included and isn't it is disappointing. The smoke effect is very nice but overall not quite what I was expecting.

For the price it's a fantastic fireplace decorative item that does the job. Sure it drains the battery quickly and looks cheap but the price point being so low, you get what you pay for and for the value I'm very satisfied.
