Fabulous Information Overload
This is a great book of information.Even if you don't want to cook it's a wonderful read. So glad my friend recommended it.

Great information but poor printing job
This is well organized and full of detail information. However, the paper is off-white and the font is too busy and faint for this paper. As a reference book, the user may not have perfect lighting and I found this VERY difficult to read in typical retail lighting.Had the paper been a bit more glossy and white, it would be much easier to read. I understand this was probably a cost saving measure but I think it was a misstep and makes the book difficult to use in the desired environment.Having said that, the info is detailed and seems to match the local stores I have to explore. I also use it to help decode menus.I would have given it 3 stars due to the readability but the info is so good, I raised it to 4 stars.

Love this book
Super informative and a great addition to my culinary book collection. I’m in culinary school but they don’t teach us about all the ingredients and uses of other cultural foods, at least in my degree plan they aren’t. V

Preventing Occidents in the Kitchen
I've been cooking Indian dishes for over thirty years now. When I've served my dishes to Indian friends, the best I got was "very tasty, but not authentic." Now with THE INDIAN GROCERY STORE DEMYSTIFIED, there is hope that I will approach that elusive goal. (I know I will never reach it, but I can always try.)After scanning through this book, I now know about such goodies as "curry leaves," which my friend Raji once told me about. Now that I have discovered that at least three Indian spices -- cinnamon, fenugreek seeds, and turmeric -- are particularly good for diabetics, I will probably cooking Indian at least once a month.The book also contains a few key recipes and information of Indian cooking techniques.

I liked it.
Good fun books, Product information is general and not all inclusive but very interesting. I cook a lot of Indian foods and it has some good tidbits, but the Indian Grocery is a little different in the UK than the US. Still, a good book.
