Throws good light . Fit right in old 6p defender...can use rechargeable batteries
My thoughts My concerns and opinions ::pros and cons...::::Pros: Works great in the old Surefire 6P Defender. Fit right in with the removal of outer spring... no grinding or trimming ..I can use my O light rechargeable batteries now .With incandescent Surefire bulbs you can not use rechargeable batteries ..the bulb will pop instantly and they are not cheap.. must use led bulb with recharge batteries. That’s why I bought this bulb .Seems to be working very well. It Throws some strong light ..Cons:: Without the outer spring there will be no shock absorption. I’m wondering if it will fail if given enough hammering from a pump shotgun. Kicks like a mule. This is a weapon light suppose to be shock resistant and the outer and inner spring on the Surefire bulbs do this . With this one without the outer spring and is just lodged against the flashlight inner body making a connection. My predictions are not so good for the future of this product. ..I’m not trying to bash it but..We shall see.Under normal use so far It’s great..the price is right was fast shipping and this seems to be a great product but only time will tell..

Easy conversion to LED.
My Surefire G3 uses a lot of batteries. This LED conversion was easy and works great. Has nice bright light.

An EXCELLENT Upgrade
I had just opened the package upon receipt of my order and noticed it had a couple of defects. I contacted the company, (BESTSUN), and they were very quick to remedy the situation. There are, however, a couple of things you should know about this unit:1) The item is not exactly as it appears in the pictures you see before ordering. And I now notice that if you look carefully at them you will notice that the pictures themselves are of different items.2) The actual item reflector is lightly scalloped, not smooth mirrored as in the pictures and the ad copy. Those items noted, do not let either of them dissuade you from buying this replacement light/lens module. I was replacing a bulb unit from a Surefire 6P light, (which was still working fine), so I was able to compare the replacement unit with the old. Two words: UNBELIEVABLE DIFFERENCE. I wasn't even testing it with fresh batteries and I could not look directly at the new reflector. I can't say that about the old bulb unit. The 'spot' that the beam throws is also much whiter, with a tighter focus and a more uniform beam than the old bulb unit projected. I now have a new, modern, tactical flashlight for $13. that lights brighter and uses less energy, so I also won't have to buy batteries as often.Very pleased!

Suck it up, buy the bulbs, do some modifications, and bring your old lights back up to speed.
I bought these after having read reviews stating that these could potentially work in the Surefire Millennium weapon lights that I had left over from my time overseas. Other reviewer stated that they had to remove the outer springs, some said that they had to stretch the inner springs, some said that a bit of grinding was needed on the aluminum housing, and others reported breaking the wiring on the electronics inside the housing. So, I knew what I was getting into and took the chance.I am now quite glad that I did. I found that, as expected, unit would not fit into my shock Proof absorbing head Without removing the outer spring and taking of the aluminum outer housing to a grinding wheel. I unscrew the base from the housing to protect the electronics from the wheel and heat, and got to work shaving down the outer diameter until I could insert it into my light deep enough that the Head would screw all the way down at the light function flawlessly. I am going to make an assumption that there has been a redesign on the electronics, as I see no way that wiring could be ripped from the circuitboard, so I don’t longer believe that to be an issue. This single LED throws an amazing amount of light, particularly compared to the old incandescent bulb, which back in its day was certainly no slouch. If you have the ability to remove a bit of material from this bulb and aren’t scared to screw something up if you blew it, I think this is a necessary upgrade for older lights. I won’t give them a five star rating because I think they could easily make some modification to the assembly on their next production run and make these a one size fits all application, but it’s deserving of every bit of four stars.

Works great!
I had to also remove the spring. This led conversion brought my old military surefire weapon light up to current standards and was far cheaper then spending $350 to replace it. I would highly recommend trying this before buying a whole new light.

Better Life but not impressed with brightness or beam patern.
So this does not work for one of my P60 based surefires, It has an aluminum housing and this will not fit. Also one you can shake it and it will flicker, but one seems rock solid. In my other two basic G2 surefires it has made the battery life about double. It is brighter but no where near a quality light rated the same, and the beam is much different and less usable than modern high end LED lights. This is great for the lights I have by the door for letting the dogs out at night. It will not make your old light into a better tactical light, just brighter with a less usable beam pattern.

Does not work in Surefire Z2 combat flashlight
Following the instructions on the bag the item came in, i removed the large spring to install in a Surefire Z2. It seemed to fit perfectly but the LED would not emit light. I thought i just received a defective item so i returned it and received a replacement. The replacement also fit fine & allowed the head to screw completely on but again the LED did not light up. I tried installing in two different Surefire Z2 combat lights and neither one worked. Either i received 2 duds or the LED isn't designed for the Z2. For peace of mind, I went back to the tried and true original Surefire P60 bulb and reflector.

Worth the money
This lamp fit perfect in my Surefire 6P. The light is bright and very white. A nice upgrade for a reasonable price. What’s not to like.

A World of Difference
Bought to replace the integrated flashlight bulb in a CA5A3. I think the images speak for themselves, it's an awesome upgrade for a low price especially if you play a lot of night games.

"Surefire 6P LED" model
An excellent upgrade for my old Surefire 6P LED. It's a simple drop-in that doesn't leave any gaps or fitting issues.Brightness is well above and beyond what the original LED could output. This is easily an option if you want to upgrade your light in an affordable way.

Not as Advertised
It's a 30 second installation which included removing the large spring to fit my Surefire flashlight BUT it does NOT work with RCR123 batteries (rechargable)It flashes bright for a quick second then goes dim making it uselessI put the regular batteries back in and it's a lot brighter than the 60p bulb which is greatBUT I understood it could support up to 9V which it obviously cannotI was worried it might get damaged during shipping but it was just packed in a zip lock bag. I would have thought maybe it would be packed in a box or padded bubble pouch but it wasn't. It arrived intact. It is built in a metal housing which will help disperse some of the heat generated by the LED
