Useless
Useless. I have a 2007 Honda Accord and it won't fit. The key is too big to fit in the fob. It won't close. The only way I can get it to close is to leave off the plastic cover but then the screw won't fit. I followed the directions exactly. Spent 4 hours on it. Waste of time and money. Update: Because I had so much trouble with this fob, my key was deactivated. So now I have to go to the dealership and have another key made. Luckily have a valet key to start the car. This product is costing me money because I could have still used my original key fob. It was just a little worned. Buyer's beware: DON'T BUY THIS!!

OEM design with the same problem as the original
I bought this replacement key shell for my 2003 Honda Accord. The shell that I purchased is literally the same exact design design and implementation as the original key from Honda (with the exception that it did not have the transponder slot). After receiving this key and heading to my local key shop to ask about how I handle the transponder, I was informed that the key shell that I purchased had the exact same design flaw as the origin key from Honda. Namely, the key is prone to breaking very easily. After looking at the shell and the original key it became glaringly obvious that I had bought a replacement key shell that would likely break the same way as my last key did, and very soon. So I opted for a different key shell. To help those of you considering this key from spending $10 on a key that will break again in a few months, might I suggest that you opt for the flip key? I bought an B07KXZPXSW Ezzy Auto 3+1 Buttons Flip Key Shell and my local locksmith was able to cut the key in about 10 minutes for $45. He also helped me pull the transponder from my old housing so I could insert it into the new flip key. I could tell immediately after starting my car with it that I would never be dealing with a broken key again. Please understand that I mean no ill will toward this product or this seller. But I can honestly that if you use this key shell to replace a broken key you will likely be buying this shell again very soon to replace this one once it breaks in a couple of months.Good luck with your key trouble.

Do Not Buy!!!
I bought this because all I needed was the case. I was really excited because purchasing a new key and having it cut is expensive. The problem with this is the the little plastic piece that the key/blade fits into does not line up with the grooves to slide in the housing. Purchasing this was a waste of my time and money!!!!

Great Product and Inexpensive
I got this to replace the original Honda key fob that had broken. The original design is pretty poor. All of the force required to turn the ignition switch is absorbed by the thin plastic of the key fob. Eventually the key blade just twists out of the fob. With this replacement case the original blade is inserted into a heavier plastic part that is then slotted into the case. It seems much sturdier. The only real work is removing the RFID chip from the original case. It is in a little plastic hole and is also glued in. You have to cut the RFID chip free with a sharp knife and secure it into the new fob case with double stick tape. Not a big deal but if you expect a snap together system it will be additional work. It is still a lot cheaper and quicker than going to the dealer for a new key.

Good as New
2004 Honda Accord - I inserted my cut key into the sleeve provided which is held into place by grooves in the casing. I transferred the guts from my old casing (that was barely being held together by gorilla glue) then snapped the top in place and inserted the screw. It works perfect and feels more sturdy than the original.

Temporary fix. Will break again.
UPDATE*****Thought this would last longer. The plastic has become brittle. It was a good quick temporary fix, but now I am looking for something with more reliability. I seriously don’t understand why people who create aftermarket parts dont make improved designs, in turn, taking over the OEM market for a common flaw in design, where the area in the picture I uploaded breaks. All that needs to be done is make that area a tad thicker for strength because of the twist and turns from using it. Naturally, you would get more business for a reliable cheaper alternative fix. It makes sense how my initial review said how hard it was to take apart. The plastics chemical properties does not have enough elasticity. This in turn makes for a harder thin plastic, that gives way to brittlenesss, hence my issue in the picture i uploaded.Initial Review:Love how I was able to use the original key to place into the new key fob. It is a tad bit hard to re-open when you put it completely together because the small indent to help pry it apart is very shallow. If they fixed that issue, this would be a perfect cheap alternative without having to buy the key from honda, getting it cut, and programming the key, which would cost you A LOT vs. this option. Would definitely recommend!
