Catalyst Waterproof Case for Apple Watch 42mm Series 2 & 3 with Premium Soft Silicone Apple Watch Band, Shock Proof Impact Resistant [Rugged iWatch Protective case], Black Sport Band

I have had six of these cases, including the previous “generation”, for my Apple Watch series 2. Three I have purchased (only 12 month warranty coverage) and all 3 have been replaced under warranty. All six have broken with 1 obvious point of weakness. The screw assembly breaks in myriad ways, as it is very poorly designed and constructed. Two out of the six have broken within 2 weeks of use, one broke in the same way as my photo, upon first use (the photo is of the newest one, which you can tell by the band, which is still in the amazon return window). I have been very careful and gentle with all the cases, especially after the first one broke. Catalyst customer service is very responsive and replacements are easy and fast. Unfortunately, this is a matter of negligent design weaknesses. In the time since I bought the first case, there have been several years and 2 (soon to be 3) generations of Apple Watch. Catalyst have managed to improve their bands, and raise the price by $10, but the case remains insultingly crappy. To give some contrast, I have an iPad 2 in a Lifeproof case, both from 2010, that live permanently in my shower. 9 years and the case is still perfect. This is the type of durability I expect from products that make the kind of claims Catalyst does. Sadly, Catalyst, you cannot hold a candle to Lifeproof, but only because you seem to ignore your flaws instead of striving to fix them (I have had many Lifeproof cases for many devices and have seen the improvements over generations), Catalyst has failed to do this. Unless you, the user, plan to never take this case off of your watch, steer clear.

Initially loved this product so I ordered 2 additional Catalyst cases 3 in total!! The FIRST one got RAGGEDY after a year, the SECOND BROKE around the screw, and the THIRD arrived with a STRIPPED screw so I can’t get it open to use! I’d like replacements because I still like the product because it’s generally rugged enough to protect my Apple Watch while I participate in various activities. The problem is I am having difficulty contacting the company and the return/refund timeframe has passed. In hindsight, I should not have purchased them until needed :-(

Bought the case for a trip to Hawaii. After one day of use and not even taking the watch in the water the side of the case next to the microphone and speaker cracked. Didn’t even notice the crack until was at the pool where I felt the actual Iwatch coming out of the shell. Almost lost the watch. First day on the trip leaving me without a watch. I ended up asking the hotel for some duct tape to hold the watch together. That was a mistake as other pieces of the case started to crack. I ended up with probably 10 different pieces of the case which left the watch unwearable. Since it doesn’t use the normal apple bands I didn’t have a watch for the remaining of the trip.I requested a replacement and hoping this was rare defective piece. I will update after some use with the new oneJust to make sure everyone knows, the watch was not dropped once. Not sure how the watch can be drop proof

I have had my eye on this product since day one of my Apple Watch purchase , however the price was not reasonable therefore I had to go with something else. Long story short , I had apparently “bumped” my watch to hard at work to the point where apple deemed it was necessary to replace , so I got what I paid for with other products and finally decided to go with this one and so far it’s held up but I still believe the price is a little to high and will keep posted if anything changes.

I have bought three of these cases over the course of three years. Recently I was wearing my 2 month old case and jumped into the river and when I came up I noticed that my watch case had broke and my watch was missing. i attached pictures so you can see how poorly these things are constructed. DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR WATCH.Contacted customer service, they agreed the watch should not have broke but said they would do nothing to replace my watch.

My wife and I both have the protection for our iWatches. When we were on our Alaskan Cruise, the back of the case broke for no apparent reason. When we got back into town, contacted Catalyst, replaces it with no issues. Customer service is outstanding!Would like a way to dress it up a bit with more professional type of bands, but other than that, the protection and customer service is excellent!!

They tend to break around the screw holding everything together. I loathe (hate) all of the bands this watch comes with. I want to be able to use whichever band I want and still have the watch protected. Not sure if Apple is blocking them from using that design or something but that is my biggest complaint with the watch case.

Super difficult to install the screw that holds the waterproof seal with the screwdriver that is provided. I stripped one screw, and I am not new to little screws. Then I use the extra screws that comes in the back and it just falls out. Also the sports band is super difficult to latch and keep latched.

I’m personally very disappointed with this item my girlfriend got me a I watch for my birthday and I thought I would spend more than I wanted on a quality case to protect it and look after my watch! for the price I paid (£68.99) I expected it to last and be comfortable. The case has cracked and chipped all down the edges and it looks awful and no longer fully waterproof. I’m a personal trainer all I wear It for is work I never train in it because I wear wrist straps to support my wrists ! I would expect this from a cheap brand, I went with catalyst because I wanted quality and a case that would last me and that’s not what I got! I’m very upset with the quality and performance of this item and feel like I’ve been completely ripped off ! When I received this item I was very happy with it and was telling everyone about it but know I’m taking back everything I said and have started to tell people how bad the quality is !

only just got this one so can’t really give it a review but I bought it because I have already had a different catalyst watch protector for over two years and when I take my watch out it still looks brand new it been worn for work every day in all conditions the only reason for replacing was I caught the little band that holds the tail end of the strap on a bolt and ripped it other than that the case is still in good condition hopefully this one is just as good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Cheap and not as advertised

Tried for like hours to get this to got properly and no matter who attempted to put this cover one we were unable to use the scroll on the side of the watch. Bought it and struggled for hours and have not used it since. Many people have tried to put this case on with the same results.
