Minus 33 makes BEST quality 100% Merino long underwear. Superior to Icebreaker and all the others.
I love Merino Wool!! Have become an advocate of Merino base layers having recently been introduced to them this last year. I had purchased a couple tank tops from Sierra Trading post to try out Merino on a trip to Scotland. One was the Super.Natural brand which runs extremely small and had to give to a friend. However, after test driving Merino and realizing that Merino was pretty amazing, I purchase some higher quality Minus 33 tank tops. I could not be happier and show everyone the wonders of 100% Merino Wool. They can't believe wool can be so soft. Who knew one could wear wool against delicate skin. Before Merino I could rarely wear wool even in sweaters because I could not stand the itchiness. Found a cashmere sweater in Hong Kong and thought cashmere was the way to go. However, after experiencing 100% Merino I now prefer it to cashmere. Just as soft and not fuzziness to pill. These pants are the perfect weight for everyday wear during Utah's winter. I find them superior to the silk base layers I have worn for years from Cabella's. I also own the heavier weight pants but reserve them for extreme weather working outdoors. I'm sure they would be prefect for winter sports. However, these lightweight ones match the weight of the Minus 33 vests which I live in while in Utah. The knit is so fine and so soft I wish someone made 100% Merino pajama. I love, love, love the Minus 33 vest/tank tops. Perfect for keeping your core warm without overheating. They will also come in handy for the wet winters and spring of Oregon.Others on Amazon have said these pants were too thin and they ran like nylons would. I have not had this problem but then I bought an XL because I don't like tight long underwear. I typically wear a L. I would suggest that if one pulled hard enough to put runs in these long underwear then they were most likely sized too small. Go up a size if you do not wish them to fit like tights or panty hose or have to struggle to get them on. Long underwear should slip on easily and not be a struggle to put on.These have washed wonderfully. I put them in a mesh laundry bag to avoid them getting harmed by other clothing or any velcro. I hang them up to dry even though the manufacturer says they can be put in the dry. With long legs I don't wish to loose any length. The XL also provides a little more length and easily reaches the bottom of my ankle with some room to spare. The waist band come up to my natural waist and I am slightly long waisted. Crotch is not snug or tight. Also, I would very highly recommend this weight because they do not show underneath your jeans. The midweight ones being heavier do show through my jeans or at the least make my jeans feel snug.Just talking about the softness and quality of Minus 33's base layers makes me want to rub the softness of the fabric against my face!

Work reasonably well as leggings
Currently have a 28.5" waist and 40" hips -- but I also have a long rise/proportionally long legs, so I ordered a large instead of a medium the way I usually would. They seem to fit ok -- based on the "too short" review I'd hoped to use them as ankle-length leggings under skirts for travel, and use the same weight tops as outerwear as well. The black and gray pairs should serve this purpose nicely. One thing to note about the true red: Both pairs I have received so far (initial order + replacement) do not have cuffs, but do have an ugly 'MInus33' tag printed directly onto the fabric on the outside front left. These look nothing like the black or gray leggings I received, and I think these may be mis-packaged merino wool blend leggings (no loose threads to do a burn test unfortunately). To me it's important that these to be the same as the pure merino Minus33 tops I have since I'll be acid dyeing everything a deeper, earthier red and want every thing to match reasonably well. So, if getting what's in the picture matters to you, be extra sure to check the pair you get in plenty of time to return or exchange it if needed.

Merino’s odor free warmth
As a knitter I’ve long been smitten with the properties of merino wool. Lately I’ve been learning more about it’s near-miraculous properties as natures performance fabric. Moisture wicking, odor free, quick drying— modern merino is a wonder. These pants are not too warm for everyday winter wear under my clothes, keeping my arthritic knees warm and cozy, even when I step outside into subzero windchills. They save on laundering too, needing only an overnight airing out before being ready to wear again the next day.

Great overall construction and fabric quality but far too short
I am a woman who is 170 lbs and 5'8". I have a 33" inseam, 31" natural waist, and 41" hips. I ordered the Large-size grey Minus33 leggings. This product is made of high quality wool. It was soft against my skin, but would still be noticed as wool by someone sensitive to that type of fabric. The fabric was thin but that was how they were advertised -- they'd be a great legging for the summer or thin baselayer for spring or autumn. They fit great around my waist, thighs, and calves -- tight enough to hug my skin, but loose enough to feel comfortable and not binding.I ultimately returned these leggings because they were too short! They were 4-5" higher than my ankle bones while maintaining a comfortable level of overall stretch: they were closer to 3/4-length than full length! Since I bought these leggings specifically to be full-length, I decided that flaw was too great despite the quality construction. Additionally, I found that the waist band was the same height over my butt as it was over the front of my abdomen. I would have preferred a construction that would have made the backside slightly taller than the frontside. But that detail was a smaller consideration for me. These leggings also had a few inches of ribbing along the bottom (shown in the product photos) which some consumers may decide they don't like. I personally didn't mind one way or another.

My third pair in as many years. I like them. The waist may be snug.
Living in the north-northeast I wear long-underwear from November thru March. This brand/style is one that actually fits a mature woman's shape (think thighs with muscle and a proper rear-end), unlike those others we see modeled by slim teen-agers.I wear a size larger than the graph suggests which may be a tad long but comfy on the upper legs.Beware, the waist elastic may be snug, especially sitting down. I snipped the elastic on the small pair and it is just right. I might do that with my newest pair as well. The material is soft and not itchy, they feel great.Worth the price.

Impressed with plus-sized fit
Wore them as part of several layers to a very cold night Green Bay Packers game. These were lightweight and warm and I wore them several times on my trip. I wear a size 20/22 and these fit great! Did not feel like a sausage in its casing!

I'm really happy that they are mid-high rise
I spent a long time looking for Merino wool baselayers that would fit my hips and that weren't ridiculously expensive. These fit the bill exactly! I sized up because of the reviewers saying that the material was snagging and pulling. They fit perfectly, and I can tell that the material is thick enough that it won't snag (especially since they're not too tight, now). I'm really happy that they are mid-high rise; they come up to my belly button, so I won't be worrying about constantly having to pull them up.Buying them on Amazon was a much more cost-effective way of purchasing these than from the Minus33 website, especially as a Canadian customer.

A must have for wool-lovers!
For reference, I am 5'3" size 10-12 in jeans. I ordered an XL because I didn't want a second-skin fit, these sit like a lightweight fitted sweatpants (long on me so I folded the cuff.) The L size would be like tights and probably sheer, so I'm glad I ordered a size up. Soft merino wool - not soft like cashmere or lambswool, but good quality merino. Nice construction; these would be great leggings for spring/fall. The tag on the inside looks to be made of suede leather which is a nice touch. Very happy with these!

Fits well, except the length
I grabbed these on sale and they're quiet good. Its hard to find base layers that fit larger bodies and won't rip at the hem constantly. The only downside is the length, like I don't know if you think wider folk are also just always really tall but I've got at least a 3 inch cuff on these which is a bit annoying. So maybe make note of that if you're short.

Warm but not as soft as the thicker ones
These fit slightly smaller and scratchier than the pair I have that are slightly thicker. Overall, minus33 makes great wool leggings at a very reasonable price.

Comfy wool pants
Comfy and breathable, doesn’t smell. Only issue I had is with the wool chaffing slightly at the inner thighs. Hope it lasts!
