Puzzle Blox - Fine Art

I like the idea of this puzzle much more than I like the actual thing.The finished puzzle is small - about 5 inches by 6 5/8 inches - 10 by 13 cubes. The cubes are the size of small dice.Once you choose a picture to make, the colors and patterns make it easy to pick the pieces (which side of each cube) you'll need to make the puzzle.The problem I have with the puzzle is that some of the pieces are so dark they're nearly impossible to place. For instance, the Starry Night pieces are so dark that even with the use of bright light and the included pictures I couldnt get it together. It doesnt help that one cube doesnt line up exactly with the neighboring cube - theres sometimes a gap due to the manufacturing process.The second problem is that many of the pieces are indistinct - they each look like ten or twenty other pieces from the same painting. You might think that you could flip the puzzle and use the opposite picture to help you place the confusing pieces. But no ! The indistinct parts of the pictures seem to line up with equally indistinct pieces from the painting on the opposite side of the puzzle. The exception is that you CAN use Water Lillies to help you with Starry Night. But in general, it doesnt work.Its not much fun to have a puzzle that can't be put together.Puzzle Blox is a good idea, but the paintings needed to be chosen more carefully, and the printing done more clearly..

Family fun meets culture...what's not to love? I'd agree that it can be a little tricky to figure out some of the darker parts of some sides — so if you're a perfectionist this is not the puzzle for you (we figure it's like our family, fun but not perfect!) We're happy to have this on hand for family time with our grown kids and don't mind a bit of some of the darker areas may not be "perfect" (the only way you can tell is to work the puzzle on something clear you can pick up and look at it from the underside...yeah, we tried it, ha ha ha!)

Hours of relaxing fun. My only complaint is the box won't stay shut if the photos aren't in. And they're folded. It would've been nice if the clear box could also hold the photos.

Not as nice as it looks in the ads. These very small plastic cubes; one of the sides had come loose in shipping and had to be reattached. As noted elsewhere, it is far more difficult than expected. At least the price on amazon is much lower than in some of the catalogs.

okthese are really, really difficult. The blocks are small making them difficult to manipulate even as an adult. two sets of the pictures are so similar it is very hard to see what side of the cube you are even supposed to be trying to work with.I seriously doubt we will ever get it back together.I bought it for my children, but I can't even do them. I love puzzles, but this goes beyond challenging to just irritating.

This has very good pictures and is a nice puzzle. Keep in mind though that it is very hard to do. Takes a lot of time and has a high difficulty level.

This puzzle was purchased as a joint Christmas gift for my 8 and 10 year old grandsons. Both found it to be challenging and just would not give up when working to find the right puzzle piece for each of the paintings. Even I had fun putting one of the paintings together.
