I was so looking forward to getting this. With all the stellar reviews, I thought I'd pick up a great gift for my mom. I was a bit disappointed. It was packaged very well and included everything in the photo, plus two small skeins of yarn that I would assume could be used by a beginner to start the wonderful hobby that is crocheting.When I opened up the cello packaging to inspect the case, I immediately noticed a lot of dark, oily looking stains on it! Bummer. I also noticed that the piping around the case, which was otherwise well made and very cute, was not finished properly and had a ragged raw edge. I could easily see this becoming more frayed with use. I would have LOVED to have been able to purchase JUST the case, but haven't been able to find anything like this. I really liked the magnetic closure.The hooks didn't feel very smooth, but I didn't use them, so I don't know how they'd go through yarn. I'm experienced enough to know they weren't on par with my Clover, Bates or Boye hooks however. The scissors were a bit clunky and hard to open. I'll be getting a nicer pair that doesn't have to be opened. When closing them, I could see someone getting hurt or poked with these. They are SUPER sharp. Seemed to cut OK.The row counter was satisfactory. Easily turned though, and could probably advance easily within the case. Granted, this is most likely a starter set, and would be fun for a newbie. Veterans or experienced crocheters might not really enjoy the tools.As this was to be a gift for my mom, a very experienced crocheter, I am sending it back. I'm including some photos for reference, and hopefully the company can use this feedback. I'm uploading some photos with my review for reference.

This crochet kit from TenderHeart is awesome! I was on the hunt for a crochet kit, being that I am a beginner and did not want to spend all my savings purchasing overpriced products at my local crafts supply store. While I love my crafts store, it was a breath of fresh air to find this crochet kit and see that it includes a stitch counter, scissors, a hook measure, and measuring tape. Additionally, it includes a greater range of hook sizes and these items all together are a comprehensive kit and the price is fantastic. I also am a big fan of not having to carry all my crochet supplies in a tote bag, and I now have the opportunity to have everything organized neatly in the custom pouch which is beautiful. My only negative is that the scissors arrived oily, but a few washings with some dish soap should do the job.I recommend this product to all crochet enthusiasts!

It's a little on the small side but it's working out for what I wanted it for anyway. I got it to help me hold some of my hooks that up to now have been just sort of wandering amid my craft supplies. This holds the two I have along with the stuff that came in it okay. Won't work for many more than that but then, really how many hooks does a casual crocheter need. Don't answer that. lolAnyway, it's not a bad little product and serves its purpose.

I had never crocheted or knitted before I got this kit 7 months ago. I've now finished countless projects and learned a ton about crochet, and this kit still goes everywhere with me. It gets daily use, and none of the hooks are any worse for wear than they were the day I got them. Nothing is, in fact, the scissors, measuring tape, stitch markers, etc are all still working perfectly. This has everything I need to throw in my bag and be able to crochet wherever I am. Highly, highly recommend for beginners. Would make an excellent gift for someone who wants to get into crocheting.

I am just beginning to learn to crochet, and this kit is perfect! The items supplied in this kit covers a wide range of projects, and are of high quality. As I get into patterns that are more complicated than a rectangle-disguised-as-a-scarf, I find myself needing more tools in order to complete those patterns, and ta-da there they are in the kit! It has things I didn't even know I needed.The stitch markers and tapestry needles don't come in as many colors as in the picture but that doesn't bother me, because the case IS as cute as pictured. It even came with yarn! Which is not pictured (and should be). Invest in this kit!

I purchased this at the beginning of my crochet journey, and I will say It exceeded my expectations. Durable hooks, and the safety pins are great, for those projects still waiting to be finished. The tape measurer was an added bonus. Although the counter was not the best. I eventually purchased a inexpensive digital counter...problem solved. If you purchase this set the only thing you'll need next is a pattern and yarn.What are you waiting for beginner or veteran this will work for you!

Great kit! I needed to get a couple needles for a class I was taking and I got all of these needles, 12 of them, plus all the other supplies you need to crochet. I took it to class and everyone just loved it, I'm sure they'll be buying one too. It's a great deal and a really nice looking case too. I highly recommend this to either the beginner or the expert. It has everything!

This kit is FANTASTIC!!! I knew nothing about crocheting but wanted to learn. I've watched tons and tons of YouTube videos to learn and this kit contains everything I've needed to follow along with the videos. All of the pieces fit very neatly in the absolutely adorable case so it's very easy to keep everything organized. In addition to this great product the seller is amazing. If you're looking for a crochet that has all of the tools you need bundled together at an extremely reasonable price, this is what you need!
