SainSmart Signal Generator for DDS140 PC Based USB Oscilloscope 40MHz 200MS/s

Not that I endorse Amazon's consistently asking for product reviews which I don't recall being part of the bargain; I will comment on the product.Used for the right applications it is just what is needed. It is just fine for desktop troubleshooting or possibly field service.The downside is that while the software is functional, it does seem a little buggy.Overall, I would buy another and recommend to friends for "light-weight" work.

The DDS140 scope is required to use this expansion module, and the scope itself is a rather nice USB based scope, however this current version of this signal generator module is not useful; as I explain in a very quick video.

This unit works, but the software is difficult and it locks up when using with the oscilloscope. I consider the generator to be marginal. The oscilloscope is fine though.

Works just fine. Too bad the scope and software are not as good.

This thing kind of works but the DC offset is pretty non-functional. The amplitude setting goes from working OK to saturating itself with very little movement of the slider (software) so that doesn't really work either. If you are running a signal with it but press STOP on the oscilloscope, it goes to a default signal on the output that may not be welcome or compatible with what you are driving with it. The output is very noisy as well so I wouldn't bother buying this. It was a pretty cheap mistake.
