JIM DUNLOP45-130 | 5 Lab Series Robert Trujillo Stainless Steel Tapered Bass Strings (RTT45130T)

These strings sound great on my Fernandes Gravity Deluxe 5-string. My only dislike is that the high D string feels like a significantly lighter gauge than the rest of the set. I guess that's Robert's preference, but I guess that takes some getting used to. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend these.

I had been told that I should try these due to the way I play....I put the 5 string set on my Lakland 5502 Custom Skyline and immediately had some concerns. They are tapered which should have allowed me to load through the body and make the tight bend, but, the taper stopped in the wrong place.This required me to have to adjust height and intonation, but that's to be expected.Next up, the tapers at the nut on this long scale bass, when loaded through the body, put the taper AT the nut on a couple strings.These strings are some of the harshest sounding on attack, and they WILL rip your fingers up if you play aggressively.My least favorite thing is the resonance of the B string. Laklands are kind of famous for their piano like ring on the B string - which doesn't happen with these strings at all.They are super bright, a lot of attack, but oddly the sustain is not there.They lack balls on the E and A strings and kind of get lost in the mix.Back to Lakland's SS (I believe those are GHS?) now and happy again.It was worth a try I guess.

I love these -- my 5 string set of choice. I do play harder music, but don't see that as a limitation.

Strings have a very nice feel to them, highly recommend them

Strings are okay, but like others have mentioned, the D string broke right at the tapered end over bridge saddle.

Really loud strings. Powerful. Gets you the trujillo tone.
