Review: Sturdy little cart! - My 8 year old daughter saw this cart at a local shop where it was used in a child's play area. She fell in love with it and wanted one to go along with her toy cash register. So when we got home I looked on desertcart and was surprised at the price of the cart. I was thinking it would be a $30 or less item. So I searched all around and couldn't find a better price than the one offered here at desertcart. I thought about it for weeks before ordering. There were many other carts out there for less money but none of them got the glowing reviews that this little cart got. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the cart and I am so glad I did. My daughter plays with it every single day. She and her friends go "shopping" and fill the cart with items from our pantry. Then she rings them up at her cash register and bags them up and brings them "home" so she can put them away. It's a wonderful teaching tool as one day she will be a wife and mother and will have to do these things for real! She and her friends get so much enjoyment out of this toy that I am sorry I didn't get it sooner and all of the play time has made it well worth the money I paid. It's simple to put together, very sturdy, won't tip due to thoughtful construction on Melissa and Doug's part and it will be a toy that my daughter can some day pass along to her daughter. I think it will last forever as it's made from real metal that is very thick and strong. It seems like my daughter is going to be too tall for it maybe within the next year or two, but I honestly don't think that will stop her from using it! I wish they sold a taller version or could turn the handle into an adjustable height handle. That would be the perfect solution so that taller kids could use it. My daughter loves to put her doll or purse in the little seat up front as well. It's a great toy that gets and A++ review from this buyer! I have wood floors and an area rug and my grand-kids seemed to do alright pushing it on the rug. It is a little harder going from floor to rug. This is a really sturdy cart and made so it will not tip over easy. My grand-kids love it. **Q: Real shopping...can you put a gallon of milk in it and room for a "couple" of more items? Thank you.** A: Sure can! Once you put the milk in the cart theres a little room for more items but not a lot. Its like 10 1/2 inches deep and 12 inches long. **Q: Does it tip when pushed? I used to have a plastic cart about 5 years ago and when my son pushed it, it would tip. Is this sturdy?** A: This tipped the first time my daughter used it. Pulling on any of the sides will tip it over easily. The stability legs don’t touch the ground when tipping so I’m not sure the point of them. **Q: How tall is shopping cart?** A: From the red handle grip to the floor is approx. 21 1/4". ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy little cart! *by J***Y on February 27, 2012* My 8 year old daughter saw this cart at a local shop where it was used in a child's play area. She puts everything in it and pushes it around. I put pool noodles around the bottom because she was running into my walls. It is very sturdy and exactly like a cart in the grocery store. Highly recommend. ## Frequently Bought Together - Melissa & Doug Toy Shopping Cart With Sturdy Metal Frame - Melissa & Doug Let's Play House!
