Connection direction was a little off in the manual it kept pointing me to the "preference" to reset connection where it actually was located in "connect". I made a quick short video at the end how I set up to my Black Hero 5 and might be same with others if you don't find reset connection in "preference". Once connected it worked flawlessly. The battery life many has mention did not last long about 90 minutes or so which is about amount of time a GoPro battery last. But you would think a remote shouldn't take too much juice so should last longer. The functionality is pretty straight forward, you just press the white mode button to shuffle through the GoPro menu and press the red button to execute the command.
