Yes it extends the range but there is a HUGE loss of speed! My internet connection is around 40mbps but this only produces about 3mbps on a good day and if i'm lucky and nobody else is using it.Has to be constantly reset if any device loses connection to it.Honestly, would not and could not recommend as I'm now looking for a new one that wont crap out on me every 2 minutes
