Great cloth, very fast, durable
Wow, first time using Simonis 860. Much faster than what I'm used to on my Olhausen table. So far no pilling and no fuzz at all. If you install this yourself, I would recommend buying the DVD for installing specifically Simonis cloth. It will give you instructions for determining the stretch index and the correct sequence. If you are paying this much for a piece of cloth, it's worth every penny to install it correctly. The only negative I have is that most sellers price the cloth based on the size of the table. When you order for a specific size table, you get just enough to cover the table and rails with no extra. It would be nice if they provided enough to cover an extra rail or two, in case you make a mistake. A little nerve racking knowing you can't make a mistake. I know, I know, I should hire a professional. I'm the ultimate do-it-yourselfer and after doing this myself, I can see that the "professional" that covered my table when it was new, did a terrible job.

Simonis is a great cloth. The Tournament blue is easy on the eyes, balls easier to see.
The Tournament blue is easy on the eyes, balls easier to see. Using grey chalk, seems to leave the fewest visible marks.

Buy HR if you’re going to bother with a Simonis cloth
I would spend a bit more money and get their High Resistance cloth. Even for my pool table at home I have several tears in the cloth in less than one year. I rarely miscue, I don’t jump or massee on my table and neither does anyone else. I can run ~30 balls so I’m not a horrific player and not a beginner by any means.Simonis quality has gone way down from prior years. 15 years ago I had a different table for 6-7 years and the cloth didn’t have a single tear on it. Almost 10 small rips in the cloth where you can see the fibers pulling up after one year is just complete garbage for spending a few hundred dollars on the cloth. I asked Simonis several times about their warranty on the cloth and received no direct answers stating it was my fault the cloth has tears it in. I go to a pool hall down the street that has 10 year old Simonis cloth that has thousands of hours played and no tears and not high resistance either. I’m using the same pool cue and tips I was using 15 years ago. My equipment hasn’t changed. The only change is the quality of the cloth produced.Simonis said ‘tears are common without HR cloth’ and basically put all the blame on me. High Resistance cloth should be used for high volume traffic, not a table at home playing 5-10 hours a week.Pretty disappointing since Simonis is ‘the name’ for billiard cloth. I’ll see if there are other alternatives out there. If their common cloth rips so easily why even sell a product that can’t even last a year? Complete waste of money and I’ll have to have my table re-felted soon.Photos uploaded hopefully they can be seen ok (not all marks have been uploaded - about 10 total in one year). Let’s hope they start making better quality cloth so everyone doesn’t have to buy tournament quality cloth to play at home.Having to re-felt after one year is inexcusable.
