LOVE IT!
This is a cool hat. Love the shape, the fabric, the fit is perfect. As heads go, I have a stupidly large one (7+3/4), I should have been an actor...lol. But this sucker fits great, and no headache from being too tight. Love how the bill has a clever device embedded that allows it to fold for packing, or stuffing in a purse. Great color as well.

Not waterproof
Folds into a small pad that can be put in coat or jacket pockets. Just wish the material is a bit stiffer and more water proof. The hat material is so thin that it collapses when wet.

More of a cool/moderate weather hat
Great in light rain or moderate weather full sun but not breathable enough for use in hot weather.

Nice travel hat, sizing was off
I’m a big fan of cadet caps in general, and the Outdoor Research brand in particular. I’ve owned a waterproof version of this hat for years that goes everywhere I travel. It’s a bit hot sometimes so I decided to pick up a non-waterproof version in a different color. The hat is lightweight and designed to fold in half and easily sit in your back pocket or a backpack when not in use. It has a lower profile that looks good on me, whereas baseball caps sometimes swallow my head and make me look 14.The only issue I had was sizing. My other O/R hat was a large, but this large was way too big. So back it went for a Medium, which is a bit tight but will stretch over time. O/R must have changed its sizing over the years, so check closely when you order.I paid $22 for this, and have noticed that the price fluctuates. So I’d suggest adding it to your cart and let Amazon tell you when the price drops.

Perfect Hat for a Head that is not a Hat-Head!
I LOVE this hat! I have bought so many hats over the years, but have never worn any of them because my head is small. This one was perfect for what I needed it for. I went on a backpacking trek with my son and his Scouts BSA Troop. For one of our shakedown hikes, I wore a typical sun/beach hat with a wide brim al the way around, but the back of the hat hit the top of my large backpack, and it made me hold my head in a weird position. So I needed a hat with no brim in the back, but traditional baseball or truckers hats don't work for me. I picked this hat because I could wad it up and stuff it in my pack or pocket when not in use, it kept the sun out of my eyes, it hid my hair that went unwashed for multiple days!, it kept the mosquitoes and flies off of my head, it kept the rain out of my eyes and off of my glasses, it dried quickly, it provided a structure for the bug net to go over, it is machine washable!, and it is SO CUTE!

As usual, I wasn't disappointed by an Outdoor research product. Nice hat. Great for backpacking.
As usual, I wasn't disappointed by an Outdoor research product. This nylon hat has a UPF rating of 50 for good sun protection. And I tested it by turning it inside out and filling it up with water. No leaks and no absorption after letting the water stand for about a minute. So even though OR doesn't advertise a water repellent coating for this hat, it has some reasonable ability to shed water for a while.I really like this military style cap better than a baseball cap and the Evergreen color is a pretty close approximation to Army OD green.I wear a size 7 1/4 in a Stetson western style hat. In European hat size, I have a Kangol and a Wigens pub style cap, both in size 59. I bought this hat in size Large hoping I guessed right because this hat only comes in S/M/L and there is no adjustment. I did OK. The Large fits me perfectly. I'd say this Large ranges from maybe 7 1/8 to 7 3/8 or in European sizes from 58 to 60. Also, I bought this hat in two different colors, Evergreen and Khaki, and they fit exactly the same so there appears to be a consistent manufacturing process.Another nice feature of this hat is that the bill is made from two pieces that fold neatly in half for a really small package that stows easily in a cargo pocket. And the nylon fabric is lightweight in your pocket or on your head. The only two cons I can point out are.....1.) The aforementioned limited size options of S/M/L and no adjust-ability on the hat.2.) The nylon fabric is solid with no mesh or vents. It may not be optimal for breath-ability or cooling with high temps and high exertion.EDIT: Since I plan to wear these hats mostly for summer backpacking and I'm not really concerned about rain, I plan on adding 8 brass eyelets with 2 each at the front, rear, and both sides. I can add the eyelets in 5 minutes per hat for almost no cost. That will give at least some air flow and allow sweat to escape as vapor. It won't be as effective as a mesh panel but it should be better than a fully closed cap. If I get caught in a hard rain, I have a Marmot Precip safari style hat that is waterproof.

Great hat
I have 2, the first I have had for more than 5 years and wear it all summer and pack it when I travel. It is light weight, always looks good, dries well when it gets sweaty, and doesn't stink much. I wash it carefully, because it is now indespensable, and got a second lest they quit making them, which seems to be much the same. I have xl because I have a big melon, I like the pill box shape because I can tuck my hair up in it and it stays.

Comfortable, EDC cap for sun protection
First off, I was very impressed with the packaging and how the hat came in a nice box. It actually makes for a far nicer presentation than I expected (which was just to have a crumpled hat in an envelope). The hat, itself is extremely lightweight, cool and comfortable. The large size happened to fit my head almost perfectly, just slightly loose, which was unexpected since I have a fairly large melon. I like the unstructured, foldable design which allows you to carry it in a day pack or pocket so you can always have head protection on you when you need it. That's why I consider it an EDC hat because it's the only one I have that I can keep on me without having to wear it all day. Seems well constructed and I like the cool feel of the Supplex nylon. Finally, I like the fact that there aren't any strange adjustment straps to fool with, just a simple, fitted design. I realize this may turn off some people, especially those with long hair who want to wear it in a ponytail but if you've got short hair or are bald, this is the one!

The best cap I ever purchased
Great fit. You can fold it and carry it in a small pocket. Very durable. Lasts forever. Can be washed again and again.I just love this and carry one at all times in a pocket in my bag. I purchased a few extra as well. Great protection against sunlight, rain and cold wind. Looks great as well.

Great quality at a price
Expensive but unlike cheaper models hasn't discoloured or shrunk after washing, very well made and folds down the peak allowing it to be stuffed into your pocket.

Very nicely constructed and useful cap for various weathers
I'm usually a natural fibre fan but having tried and liked the OR sun bucket so much I thought I'd try the radar cap because it looked like it would be a useful pocket cap for sun protection for my bald patch and eyes. The large fits my 59cm head perfectly. The fabric is double layered and the construction is beautifully accurate. The peak fold works very well. The peak is quite short and the top of the cap is round - I prefer a bit longer fore and aft because my head isn't round. Otherwise really nice quality cap for the price that will be useful in cool and warm weather.
