Berghaus Men's Stormcloud Waterproof Jacket

This jacket does not do the job in heavy rain. Water penetrated the material. In addition, I have to wear a hat to avoid dripping on my face, and wet hair.The jacket does, however, do a fairly good job in moderate rain.

This is for sure my go too jacket..not only on days of rain but for windy days aswell ☺

It is just a tad smaller than I expected. It will still work fine in any case. Well constructed, and will definitely keep you dry. You may sweat in this however, as there is not any venting provided.

Seems of good quality but still haven't tried it out yet. All videos/ reviews state the jacket includes a pouch but this one did not come with the pouch. Somewhat dissappointing.

nice looking and good for rain and wind resistance , just liked it’s name “storm-cloud”. need another warm-keeper suits if it’s a lower temperature weather.

This jacket isn’t what I was expecting at all – and is the first Berghaus product which I’ve been disappointed with. I was looking for a good quality, waterproof jacket & thought this was one. Instead, it’s more like the kind of waterproof you would keep rolled up in a rucksack, just in case. It’s not really suitable for a general-purpose jacket. And it’s not completely waterproof, either.I have a Berghaus coat & assumed this would have the same inner lining – it doesn’t. In fact, it doesn’t have any inner lining at all – just one supposedly waterproof layer. There’s no insulation at all & it’s actually very cold to wear, with no wind resistance whatsoever. In fact, it often feels like it has a wind-chill factor. I have a warm constitution & seem to mind the cold less than most people & as such, I avoid buying thick jackets because I find them too hot. But even when it’s been raining, I’ve chosen to wear my hoodless polyester jacket rather than this one because it’s way too cold.Having used it for a few months, I’ve found that while it’s okay for moderate rainfalls, it’s not entirely waterproof in heavy rain. My clothes end up with wet patches around the zip & on the back - possibly due to it coming in through the hood but I’m not certain. When I had my hands in the pockets during heavy rain, water collected in the bottom to the point that my hands were in miniature swimming pools.By the way, the video on Amazon’s description says that it comes with a little bag for storing it in – it doesn’t.So while this jacket does get used from time to time, I’m very disappointed. There are other foldaway waterproof jackets available which are much cheaper & just as effective – but then I didn’t realise that was what I was buying from the photos, description & video.

Für den nahenden Sommer brauchte ich noch eine Regenjacke. Meine Kriterien waren: Wasserdicht, leicht, kleines Packmaß und am Ende gerne auch gut aussehend. Nun gibt es 100 verschiedene Marken mit jeweils drei verschiedene Regenjacken in 16 Farben. Da die meisten Anbieter weitesgehend alle Kriterien erfüllen bin ich stur nach Aussehen gegangen.Mit Berghaus habe ich wenig Erfahrungen aber bisher nicht's schlechtes gehört. Normalerweise würde ich ohne zu zögern zu Patagonia greifen, nur waren die Torrent Shell Regenjacken etwas teurer und die Farben nicht sehr spannend. Die Berghaus hat eine tolle Farbkombination aus Rot (innen) und Blau (außen). Sie wirkt, den Farben nach, beinahe wie aus der ehemaligen DDR. Ist sicher nicht für jeden etwas, ich mag es sehr.Das Modell in L passt mir sehr gut. Ich bin 188cm hoch und sportlich, schmal figuriert. Auch mit Pullover passt sie sowohl in der Länge als auch in der Breite gut. Die Ärmel sind lang genug und der Klettverschluss am Ende der Ärmel tut ebenfalls einen guten Dienst und vermittelt den Eindruck von Langlebigkeit. Die Jacke wird wohl einer meiner Lieblingsteile und in Zukunft immer im Rucksack sein.tl;dr:Wasserdicht: checkPassform: (Ich 188cm) L angenehm lang hinten und vorne, Schultern passen (mit Pullover) sehr gut.Farbe: (Blau/Rot) Geschmacksache. Ich mag's sehr.Eine Anmerkung: der Kordelzug unten tut nur in der hinteren Hälfte der Jacke seinen Dienst. War anfänglich etwas seltsam. Nach längeren Gebrauch macht das aber Sinn. So bleibt die Jacke vorne nach unten hin gerade und nur hinten geraffelt.

Arrived ahead of time and well packaged. Bought primarily to use as a quick go to waterproof outer layer to put over my hiking kit when the weather turns...It's made of 10,000 hydrostatic head waterproof/breathable fabric, plenty for the British weather, got a very good hood, fully adjustable. Only downside is it Could've done with a "Napoleon" Map pocket and have the pockets slightly higher so they don't interfere with a climbing or Rucksack harness/belt, all in all for the price and style I'm very happy with my purchase......EDIT: I thought I'd add to the review after I've had the jacket a year...1: It is a lovely jacket, stylish, waterproof and Ideal for EVERY DAY USE! 2: For anything more strenuous than walking or cycling to the shops in the rain, don't bother! I used it to go up Pen Y Fan and after only 20mins of hiking I was soaked, my fleece was drenched and the inside of the jacket was dripping with perspiration. THERE IS NO BREATHABILITY IN THIS JACKET, NONE WHATSOEVER!!! I ended up paying for another (Montane) Jacket for my hiking uses. I'll stand by that it is a lovely jacket, just not for anything where you might build up a bit of a sweat.

Good price and waterproof.

I like this jacket. It looks good and I gave the waterproofing a good trial the other day and it kept out the rain well, comparable to my North Face Gortex jacket. It's light (which it good for me) and fits comfortably. Because it is unlined I found the inside is a little uncomfortable on bare skin (say if you're wearing a T-shirt), but with another layer underneath, it is great, good value for money. The only real downside for me (hence the 4 stars) are the hood 'lapels', which, when the hood is down and the main zip is not fully fastened up, seem to sit at awkward angles; but this shouldn't detract too much from the quality of the jacket.
