Very simple since the brackets are welded to the step. I'm 240lbs and they don't flex when I use them. They ride no lower than the frame so no real loss of ground clearance! Love em... a little pricy but well worth it will update when needed ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Check your truck's rocker panel first *by J***H on Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2021* I have an end-of-year Classic 2018 Ram 1500 crew cab. I had issues with installing them due to my truck, not the product. The forward set of factory holes in the rocker panel of my truck have factory-welded nuts on the inside of the holes (see pic). The middle and rear holes did not and the kit's U bolt worked fine.I could not get the kit's 8mm 1.25 pitch bolt to thread in either factory-welded nuts even after cleaning the holes and dousing in WD40. I did not want to force and break the bolts.I asked the seller to reconfirm this is the correct kit for my model. I asked my Dodge dealer to verify what size bolt the factory-welded nuts are supposed to be. They both confirmed 8mm 1.25 pitch. I tried several other bolts and could not get them to thread - different set of 8mm 1.25 bolts, 8mm 1.00, 9/16 regular and narrow threaded. None would thread.I finally took it to the dealer and had them install. They got the kit bolts to work (apparently I did not clean the holes well enough?) and the boards look great. I got these boards in large part due to them being very sturdy, welded single-piece construction. Seller was very willing to help me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2017 Ram 1500 Crew Cab fits and looks great! *by S***G on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2017* EXCELLENT!!! I really love these steps!! They went on my 2017 RAM 1500 4x4 Crew Cab Night Edition, wow that's a long way to say TRUCK, haha! I wanted something other than the standard "old man can't get in his truck" running boards that everyone seems to have. Since the truck is black on black on black, it looks a little menacing so I wanted something to go with that look. I think these fit the bill nicely AND they really are a nice step to help get into the truck. It took about 2 hours to put them on and that's laying on the ground, I did not use a lift. I do have the stock air suspension so I did get a little more clearance by putting it in the off road 2 position. It was fairly easy to install but we did have a little trouble with the middle bracket. It didn't seem to sit flush against the rail like the front and back ones did. We had to tighten everything else down a bit first and then we were just barely able to get the middle bracket bolt threaded. After that, it snugged right up with no problem. The steps feel very sturdy and secure when standing on them. I am very happy that we went with these! Oh yeah, I will say too that the shipping box they came in was ripped open and a little beat up. I was really worried that the rails would be scratched up or gouged, but they were wrapped in bubble wrap very well. There was no damaged or scratches at all.
