The CL42T is a closed loop version driver which integrates the stepper driver and encoder reader in one unit and resolves step errors. It connects to a stepper motor/encoder unit. Otherwise, you can use this as the driver, but will need a controller for encoder input to resolve step errors. **Q: The product title says 10-30vdc, but the user manual says 18-30vdc. which is correct?** A: I tested at 10v. It works. Good to have a variable voltage bench supply to test these! I am running at 24v. **Q: How can I connect this drive to a controller with a common cathode? Is it even possible? The controller has a common ground, but no common anode.** A: Unfortunately, unlike the DM542, these have the anode connected together in a common-anode configuration. You will need to use an inverter if using active-high pulse or direction signals, or invert the signal in the software. **Q: My dm320t i bought last year works fine. for the new pieces this year the motor only moving to "home". it seems the not working. can you advise?** A: Check output from controller, high- CW, low-CCW. Or vise versa depending on coil winding wiring.
