Once the edges have been stretched, they roll. I purchased the Maxi from Hipknoties website on sale & then this Midi from amazon. I couldn't be happier with this product. I'm about to go backpacking for 6-8 months and feel secure knowing that I've now got all my nice outfits covered with these clever pieces of fabric. I can't break this down into pros and cons because I love it so much & it only has a few small limitations. Compared to other travel dresses I researched, this one is definately the most versatile.The fabric is SO flattering, expecially if you've always had a soft spot in your heart for the Grecian style looks. It looks flowy, graceful, and classy no matter how you style it. It's the plastic bands, which are said to be impossible to break, that allow you to do the styling. You are given 5 and this is more than enough to complete the looks, most of which only take 2 - 3 bands. I love that I can wear it tight to show off my figure or on days when I'm not feeling as confident I can hide my insecurities easily. It's softness is mmmmmm.... perfect. So it looks, functions, and feels great just throwing it on your shoulders on the way out the door to add some elegance.I highly recommend going onto the Hipknoties website and watching some videos before you purchase to reasure yourself this is what you want. I know all I could do was stare, with mouth open, as the owner and founder of Hipknoties flashed through outfit after outfit in moments. There's great info on what the 3 different sizes are capable of too.The only thing I want to forwarn you about is that the fabric is a little thin, so I recommend getting a slip or long camisole to wear underneath it if you are planning to style it as a dress. Even in the photos on the Hipknoties website you can see the women's bras through the fabric & I saw a mildly horrifying one where the model was looking all elegant coming out to the airport, however you could clearly see straight through her dress and all the outlines of her legs and curves because of the sun shining through. It's definately the kind of fabric that a pantyline would stick out like a sore thumb in without appropriate counter measures being taken. But as long as you take precautions and layer it with the proper undergarments, it's beyond wonderful.I can't recommend this product enough! VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER. :)

Not Worth the money. I have been looking for a convertible product for my roommate who is planning a trip. While this is a great idea and I have seen products pull it off amazingly this is just cheaply made and doesn't fit right. I ordered a midi in eggplant. When it came in I was immediately disappointed the fabric, tho soft, is very thin, on top of that the edges were unfinished with only one seam, no effort into making this and not worth $50. And last disappointment it was way to small to do most of the looks given. I am defiantly sending this back! Not worth even half of the price.

Honestly, I didn't even wear this. It's a large piece of stretchy, heather gray fabric (like a charcoal gray t-shirt) sewn into a tube shape with unfinished edges. I'm all for supporting this idea, but the quality was so terrible that I was a little offended I paid $55 for something I could have made myself. Hipknoties, either finish your product or lower the price. For the rest of you, buy this or make your own. I returned this and bought a second Von Vonni dress in charcoal that I plan to use while traveling.

I love this product and have now purchased it in several colors and styles. I normally am a size 10-12, and following are some thoughts to help others:-. The fabric is soft and drapey. But in is also thin and lightweight to be pliable. I like the biker shorts and a strapless bra for shaping if I am using tighter styles.- Start with one or two simple styles. You will quickly learn how tight you prefer to pull the fabric for draping. You'll learn over time how to cinch and adjust for your height and figure.It took me a little time to get used to the ties but by the fifth or sixth day, I figured it out.- These are great for travel, casual days with friends, and at home. You can also fashion them for work and a more formal evening in certain styles. -. That said, there is no formal hem and certain styles are better for hiding a selvedge edge for work or dressy occasions (use styles that include a fold-over)- Most people adopt a handful of go-to styles (I use 7 regularly and another 12 as needed), but can experiment when needed. Super creative or crafty people will find more than 30 ways to use it.- Midi length is most versatile but mini and maxi more precise. I find the mini easiest for shawls, wraps, scarf and halter blouses.- The maxi is great for doubling in cooler climates or for extra coverage.-. The fabric is incredibly comfy.- Most people wash their hipknoties on delicate/cool and dry on low. It removes any band marks and refund the fabric back to its original condition.

Okay, honestly, this is one of the coolest peices of clothing I have ever owned. It's a very nice material. Looks good a lot of ways. But I have to minus a star for the price & quality. I am not the crafty home maker type, but this is literally a peice of cloth sewn together (& the lines aren't even all that straight). If you are the crafty type, just make it.
