Great Coffee
Have been looking for a portable coffee maker that makes good strong coffee. A friend suggested I try one of these and I'm not disappointed. The pot looks and feels good, easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee in about 5 mins from grinding the beans to tasting.I prefer a strong, black , robust brew but sure it would be great however you take yours.

Small so ideal for...
...the demitasse cup we all knew we should have ordered at the same time.Nicely presented with full instructions. The kit of part assembles into a capped cup reservoir in which you put your charge of coffee.I followed the instructions closely and produced a very drinkable cup of aromatic coffee.I use a light roast as it yields a very pleasant cup of black coffee, without the nervous jitters that heavily roasted coffee deliversThe downside is multiple items of washing up. You see why instant is so popular.I wanted a nice simple single cup coffee maker this was my choice and I am pleased with the item delivered and it can be called on to make Vietnamese coffee as easily as less exotic brews.

Arrived next day, looks well made and works well, and easy to clean. What's not to like? !

Very slow
Took a ridiculously long time and I ended up cheating by unscrewing the top filter and manually stirring the grounds to encourage the drip. This was with the recommend ground coffee as well.

Very good
As a Vietnamese, I can tell this coffee filter is exactly what we use to make a Vietnamese style coffee.High quality, sturdy, easy to use. Perfect if you use Robusta coffee and condense milk.Highly recommend.

Good for the money.
It would be perfect if not one problem. When it came, there were 2 metal splinters at a place where the handle is welded to the cup (outside). Probably, it is a defect of the weld. I took the maker out of the box and got prickled immediately. I removed the splinters with pliers and got a perfect coffee maker for $12. The best bang for a buck coffee maker I have. The quality is good (except for the problem I explained). The holes are small enough and well made. Don't over-tighten your ground coffee, otherwise it will not drip!

strong coffee! fun + easy to use! easy to clean!
👍variable strength coffee: screw press tighter = stronger coffee = but also longer brewing time👍no need for disposable filters (yay sustainability! 😄)⚠️coffee grounds cannot be too fine, otherwise it will get through the filter. in my experience, grounds that get through doesn't bother me. there are like ~5 visible grounds per cup⚠️when cleaning with only water, i find that some grains are stuck in the holes👍scrub lightly with sponge removes all stuck coffee groundsi like to make the screw press pretty tight. this leads to very strong coffee, (and maybe also less grinds falling through the press into the cup?) in my brewing process, i let the coffee bloom for a 1-3 minutes. this also makes the coffee stronger...

Must-have coffee-maker if you love Vietamese egg coffee
I tried Vietnamese egg coffee for the first time a few months ago and fell in love, so I just had to have my own phin to make it at home. I purchased this set of two medium (8 oz) Vietnamese coffee makers because these are the standard size and each one makes a single serving. They seem well-made, and they're sturdier than I expected. (They were made in Viet Nam, not China, as the product description claims.) It does take a little trial-and-error to make a good cup of coffee, but once you figure it out, you're set for life. (I watched several YouTube videos.) It's important to get the grind right. If the coffee's too fine, it will come through the filter. (You can buy pre-ground Vietnamese coffee such as Trung Nguyen, but I haven't tried this yet. Note that Trung Nguyen contains other ingredients besides coffee, such as cocoa, so it will definitely have its own flavor profile. If you're grinding your own beans, note that Vietnamese coffee is a lighter roast than espresso.)Vietnamese egg coffee (made from coffee, egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk) is too rich to make every day, but it's become one of my favorite coffee drinks and is IMO a treat that all coffee lovers should try. If you do, make it in a clear glass cup so you can see the layers. (I'll probably break down and get a pair of double-wall insulated glass coffee cups for this purpose, if I can figure out where to keep them in my tiny cramped kitchen.)Overall, very happy with this purchase!
