Fantastic! One of my favorite products for crafts
Elmer's Painters Paint Markers are like craft crack to me, can't get enough of them! I use them for all types of projects from wood crafts to glass painting. My sons like to decorate storage boxes with them and we've used them for school projects, too.As long as I seal them back up after use, I find they work perfectly the go-round and store well. Haven't ever had a problem with leakage and only once had a problem with the marker drying up, but that was my fault for not securing the cap properly. So much easier to use than a brush and excellent results every time. Zero complaints! The basic color set is a must-have and I regularly order it as these colors get used frequently. I have several of the other color sets, too, and love that our local craft store offers individual markers, so I can replace just the ones I use up from them, rather than the whole set.

Best for painting dark surfaces
Out of the three brands I tested: DecoColor, Sharpie, and Painters, Painters rated fairly well. All of the markers worked out of the box (DecoColor did not), and 3 colors appeared on a dark surface (white, red, and green). Although the blue pen was not opaque enough to appear on dark surfaces (which was definitely a disappointment, thus only 4 out of 5 stars), it performed well (and opaquely) on white surfaces. This was much better than Sharpie’s oil based paint pens, as the only Sharpie colors that showed up on dark surfaces were the white, gold & silver pens.

Great markers for wood
I wanted a good paint for making baby blocks that I would not need to shellac . Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lac bug, on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. It is processed and sold as dry flakes (pictured at right), which are dissolved in denatured alcohol to make liquid shellac, which is used as a brush-on colorant, food glaze and wood finish. Shellac functions as a tough all-natural primer, sanding sealant, tannin-blocker, odour-blocker, stain, and high-gloss varnish. So with these markers they really are a deep rich color. I use them on fabric, cardboard, and also to decorate wood toys. They’re non-toxic and have virtually no oder. (Except for the metallic colors, which do smell.) If you use them on fabric, then blow with a hot hair dryer to set the ink. It will then be permanent and even withstand washing. You’ve probably eaten shellac, and if you are not a compulsive ingredients reader you probably never realized it. Ever had sprinkles on your ice cream? Yep.

These paint markers work well!
Very happy with these paint markers. It is the first time I’ve used them in general. Easy to use. I painted white chalk paint on my metal jug for a label. Then drew the letters/numbers in regular pencil and finally traced them in black paint marker. Any mistakes I just corrected using the white paint marker. I brushed an indoor/outdoor matte protective top coat over my work. The black smeared just a little bit I didn’t mind-it gave it a vintage look. Turned out so cute!!

Time saver! Great results!
These little pens just made my world so much easier! I can't wait to make more signs! I used this on stained wood to make signs for my daughter's First, I hand painted with a brush and acrylic paint... a sign for my son's room...it took forever! Then I found these and it cut my work time more than a third! What a great invention! I only have used white so far, but it goes on nice and smooth. No spills or leaks. write just like a sharpie medium point. And it dries much faster than paint acrylic. It made my sign much more professional looking. It is lighter than painting with a brush, so you have to add more layers, but its week worth it! I hope it lasts a while. Highly recommend to any crafty person!

Dont waste your money
Worst paint pens i have ever used. Nips are super short, all most half the size of any other brand i own so they disappear quick. Paint is streaky and runny.
