TL;DR: big stretches, fun to climb, cat approved and highly recommended. I have two 4-year-old cats with opposite personalities. They have never had an official scratching post (besides the 4 on the legs of their tower and our couches if that counts) so I decided to do some research. Square scratching posts are best for cats to get a full stretch in with their scratches. The first few I saw were $50+ so I am glad I found this one. It is extremely sturdy, tall, well-made. It comes with a little fuzzy ball attachment and an extra in case that one is destroyed. It is easy and quick to assemble. The brown parts are very soft. My cats took a bit to actually use it since it was their first experience with one, but once they did, they fell in love. Bean (pictured) loves bug stretches and getting a good scratch in. She is also very proud of herself for jumping up top. Overall, highly recommended for quality, price, and enjoyment.

Amazing item! Upon moving to my new apartment, my cats started scratching my bed and occassionally my rugs. That's when I found this product that I didn't knew I needed. My cats not only completely stopped scratching anything they shouldn't be and now faithfully go straight to this amazing scratching post to scratch. Its super sturdy, I haven't noticed any wobbling while they scratch it because it is tall and well built. I have 2 adult indoor cats and they both use this scratcher. I've had it for maybe a month or alittle less and there isnt any sign of wear. Love this scratcher and am so glad I found it!

Just as pictured. So. I had bought the Amazon one looooong time ago. It has wood not fluffy on the bottom and top and honestly I think it was heavier. The difference I notice is that it does wobble a fair amount. And I don’t mean wobble just on its own. My cats like to jump from it up onto something else. They will climb it and jump off. During this jump off I notice the stand will wobble the opposite way a great deal enough I was a bit like hmm I need to secure this more. It’s located near where I workout so I have 2 sets of big 8lbs red weights and I just put it on the side towards the jump direction and it doesn’t wobble at all. It’s perfect to jump from. I think there was a string and nail to maybe keep it onto a wall? I’m not sure. The instructions were terrible.. but it’s fairly straightforward. The top screw you need to make sure the top has the “smaller side” upwards. So the longest part will screw into the top of the stand. I like the addition of the fluff vs the old. The weight obviously was better and a bit sturdier due to that. Again adding my weights to one side fixed it. It is much cheaper I think the other is about $50 and this is like $36 so that is nice. There’s an odd lip of the sisal on one side. The old wood one I have is fully box shaped, no lip. No real drawback I notice just odd. This seems nice so far. The other one I had I’ve probably had for like 5-6years now.

I own three cats, one of which (1.5 year only Maine Coon) has always taken a liking to our bedroom curtains. I needed something large and wide to help him get his urge to stretch and scratch out. This turned out perfect! I was looking for something tall and wide, and this turned out larger than I thought! It's sturdy enough for my 12lb hour cats to climb and sit on top of, and has stood up to our larger cat playing with and scratching. The set up was slightly annoying when attaching the base to the trunk of the scratcher, but nothing one person can't handle. Took me about 30minutes altogether to build it solo. The picture instructions were easy enough to follow, and it even comes with a wall attachment for extra stability if you need it. My boys took to it immediately, and love playing with the ball on a string. The wide trunk is perfect, and my cats can comfortably fit two paws on it. The best part, it's distracted my larger cat away from my curtains, for the most part 🤣 Overall, 100% worth it and at a great price point. Considering buying another more for other rooms in the future.

Even still young indoor kittens knew exactly what to do and love it. It's stable for scratching, but if you have a couple of wilder ones that like long running leaps to the top, you might want to go ahead and anchor it to the wall with the provided strap for safety. Even the toy on the elastic has held up after a few months, though they mostly want to scratch, climb and/or sit on top. The scratching cloth isn't showing signs of wear yet, with four young ones using it. An excellent investment.

We bought this in December of 2022. Other than where it has begun to separate at the seam (see pic), it has held up extremely well. It knocks the socks off all other scratching posts that we have tried. The separation, which can still be poked back inside the hole and glued or stapled (though I don't like either choice so I just poke it in and turn the post so that it is less likely to be pulled back out by our menace of a cat with his murder mitts) began about a year after we bought it (frustrating) and is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But as you can see, it is still rocking on in 2026, 3 1/2 yrs later. Well done, Amazon! Well, done!!!

I introduced my 8 week old kitten to it by taking his favorite toy & placing it on top of the pedestal. He’d climb to the top, but couldn’t immediately figure out how to climb over the platform. After a few tries, he reached the top & decided that he liked sitting up there. He was using a cardboard scratching pad prior to this, but simply loved that he could run, hang onto it , & race to the top. It is extremely well made, very stable with a wide base. This is a great item to introduce your kittens to so they will declare it as their own , & hopefully NOT scratch upholstered furniture.

Read the reviews on this and about 50 other scratching posts before picking this one. Picked because of the little pedestal on top and for being taller so the cats can stretch out! Wasn't long before the 1-yr old was on top and scratching away when I put it down for them. Assembly took about 3 minutes! REALLY sturdy! Nice design! No weird smells either! Looks nice too so you can put it in a living room instead of hiding it away. Seems to be holding up really well and is a high quality scratching post! The little ball that comes on it is fun for the cats too and even comes with an extra replacement ball and a little set of tools. I was hesitant because so many other posts just fall apart or leave junk all around the floor after they scratch but this one doesn't have any of those issues at all! I recommend and the cats seem to approve!

Ich habe den Amazon Basics Kratzbaum (ca. 40 × 40 × 90 cm) einige Wochen in Gebrauch und möchte meine Eindrücke teilen. Qualität & Material: Der Kratzbaum wirkt robust verarbeitet – die Basis ist schwer genug, dass er auch bei kräftigem Bespringen stabil bleibt. Der Teppich‐Bezug fühlt sich angenehm an und ist weich genug für Pfoten, strapaziert aber auch nicht zu schnell. Krallenpflege & Kratzverhalten: Meine Katzen nutzen vor allem den Teppich und die Seitenflächen intensiv zum Kratzen. Das Material bietet genug Widerstand, ohne die Krallen übermäßig zu beschädigen. Es erfüllt seinen Zweck, Möbel und Teppiche zu schonen. Komfort & Nutzung: Die Höhe ist sehr praktisch: Oben kann eine Katze „überwachen“, und unten gibt es genügend Fläche zum Liegen oder Springen. Meine Katzen nutzen beide Ebenen – sowohl zum Ausruhen als auch zum Spielen. Aufbau & Handhabung: Der Kratzbaum ließ sich relativ einfach aufbauen; alle Teile waren dabei und passten gut. Wichtig finde ich, ihn gleich auf einem festen, ebenen Boden zu platzieren, damit nichts wackelt. Optik & Integration ins Zuhause: Das braune Teppichdesign ist neutral und fügt sich gut in Wohnbereiche ein, besonders wenn du warme Holztöne oder Erdtöne im Raum hast. Er fällt auf, aber nicht störend. Verbesserungsvorschläge: Einige Stellen könnten mit der Zeit stärker beansprucht sein – z. B. die Teppichfläche. Eine Option mit austauschbaren Teilen wäre toll, damit man z. B. die obere Liegefläche nach Jahren ersetzen kann. Fazit: Für Katzenbesitzer, die einen großen, stabilen Kratzbaum suchen, der sowohl zum Kratzen als auch zum Entspannen taugt, ist dieses Modell eine gute Wahl. Meine Katzen fühlen sich offensichtlich wohl damit – ich würde ihn wieder kaufen.

Parfait, il est grand, il est large, le chat peut grimper dessus comme un petit singe. Il est malgré tout discret. Pas de couchage ou de coin cachette que mon chat déteste. Il monte tous les jours dessus en sautant ou en escaladant à coups de griffes. Parfait. Très solide.
