SCHWALBE Snow Stud HS 264 Studded Road Bike Tires (26x1.9, ORC Wire Beaded, Reflex)

Great studded tire for Wintery days and ice that never seems to want to melt. My commute goes through neighborhoods where despite a few 60 degree days in a row sheets of ice still exist.These tires at full pressure do an ok job with that ice. However, on really icey/slick days I drop the pressure and worry much less about slipping.You will feel your back end go out (if you don't use one on the back) but the front one keeps gripping.I know its important to have 2 studded tires on but 1 makes a huge difference as well. And if you are playing it safe its certainly very doable.Pretty easy to mount on general 26" rims. Not as slow as I thought since you can air them up or down to increase or decrease stud contact.Haven't lost any studs yet but only have a couple hundred miles on them

Great tire I live in indiana and I rode every day in 2013 to work did not walk none highly recommend high price but worth it

On only my second trip out the tyre came off my rear rim on a slight curve, immediately jamming into the brake callipers and causing me to fall off my bike in the middle of traffic. Following this it was no longer possible to get the tyre to stay on the rim, indicating to me that this must be some kind of manufacturing error that can cause the beading to easily fail.

Almost as soon as I put it on the wheel it came off. This was because there was a at least one break in the wire in the rim of the trye

I own these tires since three months ago and I am going through the winter with them. Under normal weather these tires rolls almost like regular ones. In cold weather they are very good too, just taking the pressurea little bit down, you will get the studs in touch with the ice. The reflective band is also a plus, I love it.I feel safer riding my bike through the city rather than walking ;)

super grip bei der ersten Ausfahrt, ich wundere mich, wie ich so lange ohne spikes leben konnte...ab jetzt immer im Winter11/2015 fährt sich sehr gut, aber: muss einen austauschen, weil "ausgeleiert".Mal sehen wie der hält ....1 Punkt Abzug
