First of all, I'm minorly annoyed because they didn't include the clamp with my order. But unlike many silly people who use reviews to vent about Amazon, I'm actually reviewing the product I got (gasp, what a revolutionary concept!) which is why I'm giving this 5 stars. From other reviews, the clamp doesn't work very well anyway.Here is my recommendation to anyone considering buying this. DON'T buy it for the ability to attach it to a cell phone. This thing works perfectly well using good old fashioned eyeballs. In fact, it works GREAT. I'm a scientist and I've spent a lot of time looking through microscopes and I was extremely surprised at just how well this thing works! You don't need a cell phone to use this item.. So, at this point you are probably thinking "yeah, but I'm spending 8 freaking dollars on this - I DEMAND a microscope that works on a cell phone!" Stop being unreasonable. If you want a microscope that works on a cell phone/computer, get one with a cable that connects to the cell phone and uses an app. Stop trying to cheap out. If you think $8 is too much to pay for a microscope that requires using your eyes, try going to Toys R Us and looking at microscopes for children. You won't find one for under $29 and what you get will be junk - it will be hard to use and fill you with regret. This one is SO easy to use compared to a traditional microscope. It really is perfect for kids. For example, if a child wanted to look at his finger under a traditional microscope, he/she couldn't do it. You'd have to cut skin off the finger and put it on a slide first.. But with this one, you just put the microscope on your finger and look at it and wallah! It's brilliant! And it is only $8! You can't go wrong unless you are an unreasonable person who demands a $500 item for $8.Even though I don't have the clamp, I found that I can still place my cell phone on top of the lens and take a picture - it isn't easy, but doable. Yeah, it is that easy to use which surprises me even more that people are complaining so much. So I'll attach a few pictures that I've taken.

First off, when I received my microscope it was very well packaged and shipping was super fast. The product itself had a loose connection so I had to fix it so the light would work, the unit works fine now. Pros: price, compact & portable, very bright white light, easy to figure out, universal phone clip attachment is good quality, takes great shots, is universal. Cons: it's very touchy and is best when used along with a tripod, the microscope's lens that is closest to the phone is very small and is hard to center onto the phone's camera "tunnel vision" unless you zoom in with the phone's camera, focus range is limited and when adjusting it the image can shake.4* out of 5* only because I received a defective unit that I had to fix... It was a easy fix but, some people wouldn't know that. Would I recommend it? Yes! For the price it's a cool microscope / tool for taking macro shots.

I am a biology major, and have been teaching middle school science for 26 years. I saw a few negative reviews, but enough positive reviews to give this a try for the price. ( saw on other sites for over $25). I am very excited to tell you that is works. It is a bit awkward to use, and I am going to make a few blocks to support the phone at the right height, which should make it more user friendly. I have had family members donate old phones, so I will be buying several more of these. If you have never used a microscope before, it probably would be difficult to use this at first, but it does exactly what it says. I love the fact that my students can photograph what they have seen, as well as make their sketch. I know my students will be very excited. The attached images are taken using this on an iPhone 4 (with a cracked screen, no damage to the camera) of a one dollar bill. The eye of Washington and the G from his name.

almost gave it a 5 star review but its actually a bit finnicky to use when attached to your phone. (which is the entire point) But if you have a steady hand you can line up the viewing port and manage to get it into focus without moving it too much - great product for the price, but if you're like me (i was on the verge of spending a little more and getting a small desktop microscope that takes pics via USB connection) i would just go ahead and upgrade to a larger unit. I bought this as a test and i like it so much that i want to upgrade to a big-boy version.Overall, price was right and its very convinient that you can clip it directly to your phone to share / upload pics with ease! also very small and portable!

I bought this for my 5yr old daughter to use with my older, unused Galaxy Nexus phone. We had previously gotten her a regular microscope but it was just too difficult for her to use and wasn't portable enough for her to look at what really interested her. That's where this microscope shines. She is able to run all over the house and yard looking at anything that interests her.I've identified a few modifications that will make it much easier for anyone to use.1. Permanently attach it to an cheap phone case to prevent it from sliding off of the camera lense. This would result in it fitting only one phone.2. Increase the size of the focusing knob. I did this by super gluing the cap of a water bottle to the top of the existing knob. I think is an essential modification as it makes focusing the microscope incredibly easy and reduces the tendency of the scope to slide off of the camera lense.All-in-all, this is one of the cheapest and best I've purchases I've made towards my daughter's education.

I bought this initially to a) satisfy my curiosity and b) get my order up to the minimum for free delivery.It's quite disappointing to be very honest.It really requires 3 hands to operate, 1 to hold the phone, 1 to steady the lens and 1 to focus, and when you only have two hands you're either going to have a wobbly camera, an ill-fitting lens, or an out of focus image.for under £10 its an amusing novelty for a minute or two, but its such a fiddle to use you'll soon put it in a draw and leave it there. Forever.

Quite liked this product. Its far cheaper compared to all other microscope out there and it still works wonderfully. Basically u get what u pay for material and build wise. It gets the job done though. can see thing pretty nice and clear Once u adjust the focus.The item i received was a bit faulty and couldnt zoom. Would have given it 4 star if it could. This is a cheap but works alright microscope. Its not going to come with bluetooth or advanced technology like the other exspensive ones. Cant complain.

The actual microscope is fab, I put it on my leg while wearing jeans, expecting to just see a blur but it was really good, you could see all the fibres 😊 but it does not screw into the clip for some reason, so trying to get a new clip.

Arrived really quickly, concept is good but it does not connect / fit to my iphone 6
