WiFi Unuseable. Streaming Unwatchable. LuDashi Malware / Adware Pre-loaded.
Did not meet realistic modest expectations. Bottom line I returned this device. I really wanted this pocket sized PC to work out, but returned it as there were just too many negative results for key requirements. First my expectations. Primarily I wanted a small -on-the-go device to play my local, on board video files. Secondarily a device to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as general browsing. I ordered this device with a full understanding that the Atom z-8350 is not a powerhouse, WiFi 2.4 GHZ is not the fastest, 2 GB of memory and 32 GB storage is not a lot. That said, my opinion was that the specs could meet my needs if resources and expectations were managed and I loved the price. Following is my experiences positive and negative with this device which led to the return. The device is plastic, but I would not say it feels cheap at all and piano finish looks good.Like all 32 GB drive devices negative reviews cited no free space and difficulty running Windows update. Here I did not see a problem as (except for LuDaShi .. more later) ACEPC appears to have created a fairly clean Windows 10 install that occupied only 9.86 GB out of the box with 19.2 GB free. Except for LuDaShi I did not see bloatware. First cut Update found 13 different updates to be applied (including several large cumulative updates), they all applied in about 3 hours and raised used storage to 12.9 GB. Fair enough. Post this point mileage will vary depending on the user. After using the device a bit the Virtual Memory and Hibernation files took up about 3 GB, so as I was not planning on installing many programs or storing many files on board the 32 GB seemed to be workable to me if I kept after things.LuDaShi software was indeed present (bottom line, nothing you want and should not be there.) ACEPC support acknowledged the presence of this software with the idea that it was somehow a testing tool. Simple search reveals it to be an aggressive adware tool with associated negative packages masquerading as an optimization suite. ACEPC said they are working to resolve the issue. I know from reviews on this and other ACEPC products that this problem has been brought to their attention before. There are various ways to remove this software, but you should not have to, may not feel comfortable with some of the more robust removal procedures and it should not be here. So big TRUST fail here. Something that you do see makes you wonder what you don't.Added SD card no problem. Loaded with my mp4 movies, VLC installed and movies played smoothly .. great! Primary requirement met. Video files from USB thumb drives ran fine as well. Copying files back and forth internal to SD internal to USB, SD to USB worked fine.USB mouse and Combo mini keyboard/mouse worked as expected. Non powered 4 port USB mini hub worked fine with variety of USB thumb drives, mouse and keyboard and external WiFi adapter. All good. WiFi kept dropping and I had to repeatedly restart the computer to get it back.Installed Netflix and video stream was UNWATCHABLE. Led me to check WiFi further. Speedtest gave results around 6-7 Mbps a few feet from the router while a $60 android box 3 rooms away with 2.4 GHz adapter was getting average 20 mbps and streaming smoothly. ???? (Netflix says 5 mbps is good for HD video stream) Using a USB based 5 GHz WiFi adapter Speedtest results for this device rose to average 30 mbps, BUT Streaming, although a bit better was still too choppy to watch. I cannot guess why this would be in light of the increased WiFi mbps and no indicator in Task Manager of maxed out CPU or memory. So I have to give this a big fail as well.Browsing was also very laggy and slow. Even things like opening control panel were slow. ???? I have never seen the population of the list of programs and features be anything other than instant and here it was 5+ seconds. ?? Again a puzzle as Task Manager did not show any maxed-out resources at the time. The fan does run constantly, but it is not very loud and I would not hear it a few feet away , especially with any sound from a video. Unfortunately it was running 60 minutes after shutdown (??) until power cord was disconnected. Another fail in my opinion.Temperature of the Atom ran about 65 C with an mp4 file playing an hour which seems OK as it is rated at max 90C.The windows license appears to be fully legal and activated. As I worked through some of these issues with this device I was in contact with ACEPC and would say that, despite the eventual return, they were responsive and helpful (not sure what to conclude about response saying LuDaShi was for 'testing'.) I think some of these problems are 'policy' level and quality control based and beyond what even the most well meaning support staff can address. They advised the 32 GB storage is driven by licensing restrictions with MSoft that allow for low price devices like these and they did send suggestions on how to best manage the limited storage. A replacement was offered, but I declined as my overall impression of the device was negative. With what appears to be very poor WiFi (even for 2.4 GHz), poor ability to stream, laggy browsing and LuDaShi I felt a need to return this device.

easy to carry
This mini-host is almost two months old. I have been using it to do simple things, such as watching YouTube, listening to music, and configuring the host computer. And don't think about playing games. If you use it in normal office, you can use it. Because I am also used to do homework, a screen with it, the desktop looks neat and tidy. There is no audio cable interface, I need to configure a usb audio cable. Other aspects are ok.Follow-up experience, computer configuration is really like, can be used for office, homework, but really do not use to play games, if you play games, will be stuck, and the general situation, watch movies, listen to music or quite , the price is cheap, it is suitable for buying back for the children to play, watching TV, system, windows 10, but I still like the window 7 system, used to the window 7, do not want to change other systems, and portable Sex, it is very small, and it is quite convenient if it is taken out. I have already given it to my son to play, and I have to play computer every day after school. If it suits you, buy one. Thanks

Amazing minimalistic tech
Occasionally I need Windows to run some programs. Previously I had Parallels on my Mac and Mac mini to do this. After being extorted for a second Parallels version when they would not support the newer Mac OS I decided to get a mini Windows computer to go along side my Mac Mini inputted into a LG OLED C7. I couldn't believe this mini was actually a dongle! Anyways for $92 I now have a solution I will never have to upgrade. (Parallels $80, Windows 10 license $110...no more). I purchased and use it to run Schwab StreetSmart trading platform. Setting up the multiple windows there was lag however now that it is set up it runs flawlessly with level 2 data.

Fan is loud and always running
- Box that product came in was not sealed. Would not surprise me if I received a refurbished product.+ Setup was easy. Attached to TV in living space. Everything appears to work / function fine. Appears to be legit copy/install of Windows 10 Home. Bunch of Windows updates during initial setup but not too bad. No bloatware on Windows. Included HDMI extension is about 10 inches long. Power cord is about 4 feet long.- Fan is fairly loud and appears to be running all the time even when PC is idle (even after all updates and tuning Windows to run for performance / disable animations etc). For me, fan is loud enough that it's not suitable to just always be on in the main living space.Overall, thinking to return and get something fanless that's quieter.

Got what I paid for
I wanted a laptop replacement that would be effortless to carry. It has no monitor or keyboard so you can't use it at a coffeeshop but you can plug it into any TV's HDMI port. If you have to carry around a standard keyboard and mouse, you haven't saved much, but there are downsized keyboard/glidepad combos as well as folding ones, which helps. I use it for my home computer and I plugged in a powered USB hub and a 127 GB microSD card. I'm satisfied. For travel, I'm planning to get a folding keyboard. Meanwhile I'm learning about Win10.

light weight, fast, genuine windows
I tested my pocket pc as soon as I received it. I didn't expect such a fast and strong CPU and acceptable graphic for this price. It has a genuine windows 10 home that costs more than $100. It's actually so small and easy to keep wherever you go. The only weakness in my opinion can be its low storage that can be solved with a memory. overall, I love it.

I absolutely love this Pocket PC!
I get together with friends (LAN party! :) )and play Blizzard's 20 year old title "Star Craft: Brood War". (Which also stuns me... It ran in Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, Vista, Win7, and also in Win10!) This little PC runs Windows 10, has HDMI output and has on-board eMMC (SSD hard drive). I picked this particular model because it has both a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 slot. I like my mouse and keyboard to be plugged in while I'm gaming. Setting it up was super easy. The peripherals are larger than the unit. I think that's pretty crazy (in a good way, though).
