Can Be Difficult to Install ....But If you slowly turn the crank until it slips into place...Presto!
Worked great for me but only after I slowly turned the crank until the retainer slips in. It is a snug fit but it does actually fit. Tighten the screws to about retainer screws to about 5 lbs and it works GREAT! I was easily able to torque and remove the phasor bolts with no problems whatsoever. Good Luck All!

Worked
This worked for holding cams in correct position. It is not intended to hold the cam for removing or installing the actuator bolt, use a wrench to hold the cams.

It does the job, but not great quality.
This worked for me once. The tabs that lock the cam gears in place started to bend, and I could only get one of the mounting bolts to line up. It did the job, but I will probably find another brand to go with next time I need this tool

Works to set camshaft timing.
This looks like the GM specified tool for holding the Ecotec camshaft but seems to be made of soft steel. It can be used to set the camshaft timing but the tabs bent fairly easily while removing the camshaft gear bolts. I have never used the actual GM special tool so I can not give a good comparison. Just be sure to hold the camshaft with a proper wrench while loosening the bolts or it will bend.
