Much tougher than I expecred.
I have a walk behind 6HP string mower that uses .155 line. I bought a roll of triangle yellow Ugly nylon style line from Sears 14 years ago when I got and that 100 ft. roll lasted a long time, but breakage and slip out was always a problem. It was soft, easy ro bend, and didn't really seat securely under the head clips. I thought this was just normal. I finally ran out. But after getting this Oreon Magnum line, my whole thought about .155 line changed. This is much much stiffer, thicker, a true square cut, and unless you hit actual small trees, does not break or pull out every 5 minutes. I beat the bonkers out of this stuff. If you hit small trees, it takes a beating but will break, but with protest It has a core you can clearly see. I am very amazed about how well this .155 line works. Some people mention getting .170 line for walk behind weeders. I imagine it would work real well if you could get it to insert by using a torch to soften the bend, but this .155 line fits quite tightly and securely. Not sure if .170 would pull into the head hooks. This .155 takes a pretty stiff pull and bend and to seat. Regarding using .170, you do need to have a limit on how much stress you put on the mower head. The replacement for a DR style trimmer head is close to $100. Secondly, the current price for this .155 for the amount you get is unbeatable. This roll is very big and will last till you die! It's a great buy currently. Not sure if the Platnum is as good from reading the reviews. But this stuff is impressive and still safe.

Works great on brush
Heavy duty, thick line. I use it for a walk behind string trimmer. It's able to cut brush and small trees coming up easily. No issues with losing line when hitting objects; other than fencing. It holds up better when accidentally hitting fencing than most, but will get flung out if the line has been used for a while.

Trimmed string
The string has a very good quality for the value. Easy to use and fits very well. The thickness of the string is very good and will get the job done

Best weedeater string I have purchased
First of all you get a big roll of this stuff and it is heavy. You are getting your moneys worth in quanity. I was late cutting grass this year because of all the rain we have had in Alabama this year. When I figured out I couldnt see the edges of our little running branch I was afraid to run the John Deere lawn tractor close to the banks. I drug out the big guns, the Heavy as all get out Black and Decker rolling weedeater. I put new string in it, lasted about 5 minutes. More string, five minutes. Its a real bugger to put sting in, it was tearing up faster than I was replacing the cord. I came in the house and started looking a .155 weedeater cord. This was not the cheapest, but it was not the most expensive, it was the absolute best. I went back at it again this morning and cut for almost an hour on the creek bank. I got give out and tired of fighting the biting flies, but the cord is still on. I am 70 and I know a good deal, this is a good deal.

Extremely loud high pitched whistling sound. Too stiff.
I put this on, and the Husqvarna DR trimmer sounds absolutely terrible with this line. It seems to bog down slightly more with this line compared with the spiral line. And I have a theory, that this square line actually cuts more of the grass, instead of just blowing it around, so it uses more power actually cutting/shearing the plant vegetation.I am returning this product, because the machine is unbearable to use with this line. I've run the square line for about 30 minutes, and the high pitched whitsling from this square 0.155" line is so annoying it is literally ear piercing. I can't say for sure if the sound will go away, after the line has been used longer, and begins to stretch out and straighten out, or maybe I cut the pieces too long (almost to the edges of the plastic housing on the DR trimmer) and I haven't done a side by side test with the old line. But this is by far the loudest whistling I've ever heard from any power equipment before. It's literally a shrieking sound. They need to come up with some method of making the line more aerodynamic. I know Golf Balls are extremely aerodynamic, despite being a blunt object, and it's because of their holes. Perhaps they could make a trimmer line with a certain shape (like the Titanium line from Husqvarna) that would quiet the line down?Anyway, it doesn't matter how good it cuts. It sounds so loud, and is such a high pitched and loud whistling coming from this line, that I am returning it. It is very good line, and very strong, and cuts very well. But it is too loud.

If the machine has the power, this is what to use!

It works
I'm using a string brush cutter to tame some wild area of our land. Also trail maintenance. There's rocks and saplings and it's all very uneven land. I'm going thru wild flowers, tall grass, spruce and maple saplings, raspberry bushes, crawling vines. All entrenched for a number of years. The trimmer came with some replacement orange trimmer line that really didn't last long going thru the wild areas. It would probably work better on light duty areas. The Oregon line lasts longer and cuts through most stuff up to 1/2" saplings. It doesn't seem to do too well with the really tall switchgrass. I have to go pretty slow through that.I'm happy with it's performance. The orange line had to be replaced a few times each morning. One set of Oregon lines lasts the whole morning even running into big rocks, larger saplings and grounding it.I have used the trick of putting it in a bag with a damp (not wet) cloth overnight to re-hydrate the plastic. Not sure if it helps but it didn't hurt it.Unless someone tells me there's a unicorn trimmer line out there, I'll buy this again.

Waste of money
This trimmer line is very soft and breaks off within seconds of use, I am now using 3mm mono line and it lasts much longer

The best line for walk-behind trimmers
This stuff works great in my walk behind trimmer. It's much cheaper than any of the pre-cut options, and I cut a bunch of pieces when I got the roll to have them handy. This line is tough enough to cut through some significant plants, and cuts through simple grass for 20-30 minutes before requiring replacement. Very happy.
