The Mathematics Devotional: Celebrating the Wisdom and Beauty of Mathematics

This is an awesome book for math heads, artists, and everyone in-between. The photos are stunning and the accompanying text is fascinating. I highly recommend it. The only thing that could make this book better is if it were spiral bound so you could flip it, day-to-day, like a devotional calender.

I was quite disappointed. I thought it was a book about Mathematics, but it's just an expensive quote-a-day math calendar book, which is not at all explained in the description of the book.

It's a nice coffee table piece, but not really anything more. I like the quotes and the pictures are fairly stunning, but it is not as ground breaking as the other reviewers seem to paint it. It just left me wanting something more.

I have about 10 books by Dr Pickover but this one, as I expected, is very different. The daily quotes are ok but I'm not finding them inspirational, food for thought, or jumping off points for further investigation. The images are beautiful, and I guess there's a philosophical point to use fractal images, often overlaid with mathematical typography, to illustrate almost everything; if there were more than one a day they'd all become invisible after a short while.I'm planning to only read a page a day and will likely stick with it for the year, but I was hoping for more of a gateway book than this is turning out to be. Nicely designed and printed, though.

Having been a practicing Christian/Catholic all my life, it is a great reward to have found this volume as it brings together science and theology. It is just another way of experiencing God's creation. Galileo is credited with saying that mathematics is the language with which God describes the universe. 'Nuff said.

Beautifully done book. 'Twas a Christmas gift for my son who is a mathematician. He said "Wow", and stopped opening gifts to read some of the entries, which is huge for this scientist! Glad I bought it.

For those seeking "Near FULL Page" Art illustrations like the ones Magnificently presented on [ The Math Book ] from Clifford Pickover, available now in both Paperpack or Hardcover editions at [ https://www.amazon.com/dp/1402788290 ] and [ https://www.amazon.com/dp/1402757964 ] ( ISBN 978-1402788291 and 978-1402757969 ), beware of the Extremely "diminute" book size of [ The Matematics Devotional ] with equally Magnificent illustrations, but occupying just HALF pages ... meaning that one may not end up receiveing what he/she has indeed expected from an otherwise More than Welcome reference ( entirely UNIQUE in its kind ), not only fully illustrated, but with an "incommensurable" amount of quotes, citations and mathematicians birthday notes ( from every calendar day ).Otherwise, apart from the Extreme "SMALLNESS" of the title, I would rate it with 5 stars if the publisher had offered another Bigger size edition as option.

As such you cannot read Mathematics. Practice, practice and practise...that’s what Math teachers used to say in school days. But THE MATHEMATICS DEVOTIONAL is the first book on Math that I actually read. What a wonderful read!!!!.....I personally think 💭 that this book 📚 should be in every house hold where young kids are growing. It should be a part of anyone’s personal library...

Nice product. Just don't hesitate and buy it. Its just amazing. For all mathematics lover and even for curious laymen. One and only book. What a product!!!

The covering and design of book is too good but it doesn't have any material for study it only have dates and lines with picture and if you buy for study history of mathematics or know more about math don't go for it.
