SAFETY PROBLEM! Dangerous Internal Wiring!
The design of the drill head allows the motor to shift left and right instead of remaining centered in the unit. When the motor is run, the torque tends to pull it to one side. Unfortunately, there is a ground wire with sharp-edged connector positioned on that side, and one of the blue motor wires presses against the sharp edge. Then, when the drill press moves up and down, the blue wire running to the motor drags on the sharp edge of a washer, tearing at the insulation. You can see in the photos that even after a few trials, the blue wire's insulation is starting to be scrapped away. This will eventually cause a short to ground.DO NOT BUY THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE RECTIFIED.I will contact Amazon about this also.This drill press seems to be offered by many other companies as well. I don't know if they are all the same and differ only by label, but I would be VERY skeptical of similar looking units.
