Disappointing
I enjoyed the novel JURASSIC PARK and loved the movie. When the film was first released in 1993, the film far exceeded expectations and it was one of those rare instances where the movie was better than the book it was based upon. Therefore, when I learned that IDW had won the rights to publish a series of new comics for the series, I was excited.JURASSIC PARK: REDEMPTION is set 13 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Both Lex and Tim are grown up and are successful entrepreneurs in their own right. Lex is a business celebrity and one of her many projects has been developing a renewable food crop that will solve the world's hunger problem. Tim, meanwhile, has been secretly breeding dinosaurs in an underground facility in Texas. He wants to build a new Jurassic Park that consists of only herbivore dinosaurs. However, unbeknownst to Tim, one of the employees at the facility is actually a spy hired by Tim's largest secret backer and has been raising some carnivorous creatures, too. The time comes to begin moving the creatures to their new home, but then one of the creatures escapes (or is released?) and begins causing destruction all around the area.I was excited that Lex and Tim were back, but JURASSIC PARK: REDEMPTION is a huge disappointment. The story jumps around all over the place and it's incredibly difficult to follow what exactly is going on. There are times when a person is attacked by a dinosaur and left for dead and then the story immediately switches in the next panel to a completely different scene. Later it's revealed that the person who died earlier, didn't really die, but just had a flesh wound. Then there are other times when a person is killed, but the next panel cuts away to a completely different scene then it's later revealed the person really was killed. There are characters who appear in this story that died in both the books and movies of Jurassic Park. Then there's the artwork. It's not really good. There's no real distinction between the different dinosaurs other than in size. There are sections where you see a dinosaur and you think it's a carnivore when it's actually an herbivore and vice versa. I was also really distracted by the noses of the people. I'm not sure what it is, but the noses of the human characters just don't fit well with the rest of their faces. The noses look like they've been penciled in.Overall, JURASSIC PARK: REDEMPTION has a promising premise, but it's ruined by poor execution, jumpy storytelling, and lackluster illustrations.

Great book but was torn badly
The book was great and my son loves it and carries it everywhere but for the price it came almost completely torn in half not too happy about that. I don't know why it came that way but regardless my son loves it and did not want to send it back despite this huge flaw. Overall he loves it and that's good enough for me.

An okay but very flawed Jurassic Park comic
This book is entertaining and a guilty pleasure of mine. The art isn't great and some of the spoilerly stuff made no sense but I enjoyed it.

Should have done more research.
I thought this was a regular paperback book. It was in comic book form. It is my fault, I should have researched more. I did not send it back. Maybe I will read it one day...............

Valiant Attempt at Re-Uniting the JP Cast
Jurassic Park Vol. 1: Redemption takes place 13 years after the original Jurassic Park movie.Tim and Lex Murphy, (the two kids in the movie), are grown up, and are running various remnants of their grandfather's corporation. Lex wants to keep the dinosaur island quarantined. However, Tim enters into a deal with a shady businessman and attempts to clear their grandfather's name--by re-opening a similar park, deep in the heart of Texas.Predictably, carnage ensues.Fortunately, Doctors Saddler and Grant show up in the nick of time to help out.Jurassic Park: Redemption is a valiant attempt an re-igniting interest in the series, long after the last movie was made. Keep in mind, the novel's storyline follows the movies and not Michael Crichton's books. While I liked seeing all four of the main characters re-united, Jurassic Park: Redemption falls flat in a few key areas. The artwork is okay at best. I agree with the other commentators on Goodreads, that it's often hard to tell the characters apart. One even said Doctors Saddler and Grant look younger than they did in the original movie.(Although both Laura Dern and Sam Neill looked great during last year's media blitz over the release of Jurassic Park 3-D).The plot seems to be merely an excuse to see dinosaurs go on a rampage--again. Transitions sequences are choppy, or non-existent, making the story even harder to follow.Since this is the proposed first volume of a series, readers are hoping the quality improves.Overall, I think the book was okay, probably because I found my copy at a used book store. I'd probably feel less charitable if I paid full price.

BETTER THAN I REMEMBERED
JURASSIC PARKREDEMPTIONSince the new “Jurassic Park” film “Jurassic World” came out recently I decided to go back and read this collection again. My brother and I took our little cuz to go see that movie after showing her the first three so this was a natural fit. So when I got home that night I thought about this and busted it out. Luckily for me this was as good as I had remembered it.The story follows Tim and Lex Murphy 13 years after they survived their grandfather’s attempt to open “Jurassic Park”. They have used their inheritance to make sure that the islands stay left alone by people, or at least one of them has. Now there seems to be something weird going on in Texas with mysterious deaths happening, animals and people torn to shreds. The dinosaurs are off on an island though, right?Bob Schreck did a great job with this book as I really enjoyed the story. In fact when I was re-reading it I was thinking that if they decided to make a “Jurassic Park” series on TV then this would be the perfect story for the first season. Not only is it “Jurassic Park” but it takes place here in Texas. Add in that it is about familiar characters from the first film including some surprise guests you may recognize.Like a TV series it kinda jumps around but that didn’t bother me especially when it was in Texas, which is where all the action was happening. The art work is done well as was the writing. Over all this was a fun book that while it may not be a classic depending on your taste. Still I thought it was a good read and I may move on to the next volumes in the collection and re-read those as well.

Cooooool...
Warum also 4 SterneDie Zeichnung.
