Aukey Eclipse Bluetooth speaker - A must buy!
This is really not what I was expecting from a non-expensive portable speaker at all! I did a lot of research on a few of the speakers on Amazon as I'm really fussy when it comes to bass & treble. Bass is always important to me. No YouTube review video can give you the true quality of the product, but I must say, this is far by the best Bluetooth speaker I've ever owned. Shame you can't run it from the mains and use it at the same time as it will use the battery once 100% is reached but that doesn't bother me at all since a quick charge overnight with a standard mini USB charger can get me a few days of on-off play back (I haven't tried and tested the 12+ hours capability yet) but this speaker's battery had reported about 50% charge on my iPhone at time of delivery and after using it on about 40% volume for a few hours now I can say it has depleted very little so far.Quite weighty, and feels solid. It's extremely loud on full volume with little to no distortion, deep punchy bass, perfect level of treble and mid is fantastic too, can be tweaked a little with music EQ if desired but not necessary in my opinion.Maybe not quite Bose but it certainly gives it a run for its money. And for the cheaper price tag - seriously, you can't go wrong!Very happy with this purchase!

All the bluetooth speaker you need. Yes its Stereo.
As a massively 'anti-trendy' person (nothing personal guys) I wanted a decent, portable-ish bluetooth speaker that wasn't overtly 'yooof' or ostentatiously branded. I've got quality hifi gear in the house (think Onkyo, Clearaudio, Stirling Broadcast) and honestly could not believe the sound quality from this speaker. For £40ish.First off, its stereo. Not all these sorts of speakers are (don't assume 2x drivers = 2x channels) and this was not absoultely clear from the product description. Stereo separation isn't great - laws of physics - you can apply processing through your phone, but lose a lot of detail.Second the sound. two 2.5" fullrange drivers and end-on oval passive radiators with (from the diagrams) moulded plastic horn loading inside. Without getting the screwdriversout and looking up the ICs, impossible to know what processing goes on inside; the sound isn't true Hi-Fi, and the tuning is a bit 'modern' - ie you get the most satisfying sound with pop/rock music at a decent volume. (The passive radiators are pretty solidly mounted, so i'm going to make a wild guess that its the surround material's resistance at low volumes dampening LF response.) Classical music, piano-centric jazz.... less satisfying... but lets be honest - you're listeining to youtube, streaming and internet radio on this, not studio master tapes? Can't say i'm replacing the proper hifi with this, but for casual listening its really too good.Accidentally used as a speakerphone on a couple of occasions. Once you're past the 'you sound very far away, hello?' niceties, this is a surprisingly useful feature. Minimal bass contribution (unless someone like Brian Blessed calls you) so the full range drivers get much more freedom to do vocals well. (as an aside, I almost bought a Plantronics Calisto for £70 with one 3" driver. Or this for ~£40???)3.5mm connection makes it a useful extension speaker for watching movies on a laptop (great personal cinema, bass response for SFX). Battery life is excellent - no idea how long... 4 hours at about half volume, then charged overnight.Really impressed, as you can probably tell.

Keeping it.
Great value portable Bluetooth speaker. Very powerful. Very broad range of good clear sound reproduction. Trebles can be a bit shrill at times but equally impressive with some music where you can distinguish more instruments and it's good for speech. It has great clarity through the whole range and even a decent amount of bass. I compared it with my Anker SoundCore Boost and if I had to choose between them, I would go for the Anker as, by comparison, the Aukey sounds a bit flat or lacking 3D. The Anker is sweeter, somehow easier to listen to although definitely muddier. It's probably a taste thing and I wouldn't be surprised if a proper audiophile or maybe someone with younger ears would prefer the Aukey. Another reason for my preference is that it lacks the auxiliary charging port or the Anker, so you can't power your phone or Amazon Dot from it. It does function well with easy Bluetooth connection and simple, responsive buttons and looks good. Unlike the Anker this Aukey does connect to my Samsung 6 series TV via Bluetooth and is slightly better than the tv's own speakers (UE40MU6400) which are acually pretty good themselves and very much better than the speakers of my 24" samsung TV (via headphone connection). I tried the Betron NR200 before this one because of its reviews but it's sound was lacking any depth or sophistication so was sent back. I'm keeping the Aukey though. I suspect I'd have to pay an awful lot more to get a better speaker.

Doesn't connect to Tablets.
This Bluetooth speaker, has amazing sound qualities for it's size. It arrived safely well ahead of it's delivery date, and was very easy once switched on, to pair with my android smartphone via Bluetooth. It will play your YouTube favourites with ease, any music that you have on your smartphone. It also comes with a charging lead that can plug into a laptop, or any USB plug connected to the mains.I will however state, it wouldn't pair with my Lenovo tablet, or my wife's Samsung tablet.Once paired with a phone, it will automatically reconnect every time the phone is playing, and the AUKEY speaker is switched on,The speaker has a run time of twelve hours on a charge, and at it's price compares very favourably with other Bluetooth speakers at much higher prices that this one.
