Wish it was metal
This is a handy little tool for determining the size of screws, and distinguishing between SAE and Metric screws (it is thick enough to have enough threads engaged to actually be able to tell the difference). My only worry is that being plastic, it will be easier to cross-thread than if it was metal. Do not force the screws in and it should be okay. You might have to very carefully use a screwdriver the first time in some of the holes, but after that you should be able to just use fingers. It is nice having labels on both sides of the tool. For the price, it is worth buying.

It's plastic - how long will it be accurate?
I like this item because it helps identify both Inch and Metric screws with one screw checker. The metal ones I have are either/or - Inch/metric. It is unlikely that the threads will wear out on the metal guides but I'm not convinced the plastic one will be as sturdy.I like that both types are on one tool. I'm sure it will work well with new screws - not sure how it will work with worn or rusty screws. I also like that it gives you an idea about which drill bit to use to drill a hole for the screw. I have a couple of other plastic guides which are more robust but I think this one will work OK if I take my time and be careful with it. For $10 it does the same thing the $50 units do.

OK but made of plastic
Better than nothing but I wish it was metal- easy to damage the threads when trying a bolt in the threaded holes.

Tough plastic material
Very easy to read with the white background and black lettering.Relatively thick rigid plastic does not bend or break easily.Overall a good value for a low cost Screw Gauge.
