Great for personal use or as a gift for that special graduate or special someone. Gain deeper knowledge of scriptures by comparing (probably) the most widely used and knowledge filled translations of "The Bible." The bonded leather cover and gold edging places pride in your hands with each use. The Bible's cover actually looks better with use and age. Desires? Wish it had Jesus' words in red, at least in the KJV & wish the print was larger, although the print size is quite decent as it is. As for size, this is a "personal sized Bible," but that doesn't mean that it is small! It does lay flat when open & has a sworn in ribbon to make your place (although I'd delight with having 3 to 5 ribbons in my personal use Bible). I still use my iPhone Bible Apps, but I take great joy from reading the written word! You won't regret the purchase and surely won't regret the Amazon pricing!

Previously to this bible, I had to use separate versions in order to conduct my studies in the word. This bible is a MUST HAVE for those like me who rather have it all at a glance. The bonded leather and burgundy color are as indicated and further compliment the quality of this bible. The pages are as delicate as traditionally seen on all other quality bibles. The versions are side-by-side at a glance for quick interpretation of what you are reading. I am going to enjoy this bible and GOD's word for years to come or until HE does! The words of Jesus should have been written in red as other bibles do which would have made this wonderful creation an OUTSTANDING one, but it's a excellent bible nonetheless and serves it's purpose like no other. This is a GREAT bible to have.

There is nothing better than a parallel bible with a leather covering and gold leaf edge that feels rich and reads easily. Price alert, the non leather, hard cover, no gold leaf edge, version of this bible is MUCH cheaper and broadly available, so shop. The only reason this reviewer doesn't give it a full four stars is because Jesus' words are not highlighted in any of the versions and also for such a big book it still has only one built in ribbon place holder instead of two. The buyer should know this is not a Catholic Bible which has more books, nor the Book of Mormon nor the Jehovah Witness version nor the Jewish Torah. Neither were any scholars from any of these sects consulted in the translations although many others were. It is what it says it is and I find the parallel bible especially helpful in understanding a broad consensus of meaning in each version. One version said for example "The sixth hour to the ninth hour". The same passage in another version said "From noon to three o'clock". It turns out they are one and the same thing in biblical days. Who would have known except for such parallel translations? I find it a valuable tool in understanding and studying. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

My Bible arrived today, and I was thrilled to receive it! It’s exactly as described for one who wants serious teaching by having 4 translations side by side. It lays flat on my lap as well as a table, and the font is very legible, coming from one who wears reading glasses as I have had cataract surgery. The quality black and gold imitation leather will be beautiful and durable for years! I will be able to take it to church, Bible study, etc. very easily in the Bible cover with handles in which I have it placed for extra protection.

This is actually four Bibles in one. So nice to be able to see all four translations at once, side by side. Of course to put this much information in one book, the pages have to be thin, and the print relatively small. But if the pages were thicker paper, and the print were larger, it would have to be a much bigger, heavier volume. This is a really nice study Bible in four of the major translations, side by side for effortless comparison. I love it.
