Original EVENup™ Shoe Balancer/Leveler - Equalize Limb Length and Reduce Body Strain While Walking (Small)

35 year old here. Had a stress fracture, the doctor put a boot on me. All was well, until about 3 hours in, and I realized that having the boot on meant I was walking with a horrible limp because the boot was about 3 inches higher than my other foot. My lower back pain kicked in, my sciatica was triggered, and I was starting to wonder whether the stress fracture pain was worse than what I was having to experience now. To be honest, I couldn’t continue on with back pain and such, and wondered if I should call the doctor’s office and ask for a second boot just so I can walk leveled?!But then, I went online and quickly realized they actually make this product to even out your legs so that you’re walking on level ground!! Genius! And yet, so simple! I immediately purchased it, and for the 48 hours it took to arrive, my back was killing me, and the holiday shopping wasn’t finished yet!Anyway, this item arrives, I open it, and a first glance, it looks flimsy and small for my shoe. I’m thinking I’m going to have to retro fit it in some way to make it work. Anyway, I slide my foot it (wearing a regular shoe) and tighten the strap.Magic.It was pure magic!Within just a few minutes, my back cracked, my hips felt stable and aligned, even my knee stopped cracking! Argh! Amazing! I couldn’t believe how something that looked so flimsy, worked so incredibly well!!I also realized that my biggest concern was unfounded. I felt it might elevate me enough off the ground where I’d feel unstable or like I was on stilts - considering the boot was already making me taller. Nope. Absolutely not! In fact, it’s constructed in a way that it gives to the height, but also the support and traction you need to feel completely safe and stable no matter what you’re walking through. I’ve walked on snow, ice, and sleet with this with incredible traction. It’s like a rubbery, sneaker bottom. Never felt unsafe or wobbly at all. And I have young kids so I’m always on the go.I don’t think I can recommend this enough. I know that without it, I would’ve had to trade in one pain for another, and still ended up with twice as much pain.5 stars all the way.Don’t hesitate for a second. Buy it. It’s worth it’s weight in gold.

Evenup works great! makes it so much easier to walk around with cam walker boot! I tried the 1" height first (both layers of sole) and thought it was slightly high. then I removed the top layer. (velcro attaches it from toe to heel, so it's easy to peel off.) the silicone straps are easy to stretch or roll backwards to put my shoe in, then I just roll or release them around all sides of my shoe. a narrow velcro strap fastens across the top of my foot.Most often I wear the size 38 sneaker in the photo and chose size small because the rest of my shoes are 7 or 7.5 US. it's easy to just leave the evenup fastened to my sneaker (which I slip off and on leaving the evenup in place). I like that there is a choice of heights. if I switch to another shoe that needs 1" height, then I can velcro the top layer back in. I'm pleased that the sole doesn't really stick out past the sole of my shoe. I might trip over the edges if it stuck out. YMMV based on size and shoe profile. evenup is easy, lightweight, secure, and ingenious!the last time I had to wear a boot I was stuck with it for a few months. it really pulls on my knee and hip and back to have to wobble back and forth in uneven footwear. at that time I selected my shoe that was most nearly the same height as the boot, added a thin insole to the boot, and wore only that shoe and boot. even up works really well with athletic or lace up style casual shoes with soles lower than the boot sole height. I don't really have a different type of shoe to test it with at this time.

After (2) 12 week courses in a CAM boot, NOT leveled, I developed a Left hip tendonopathy - a very Painful tendonopathy that kept me awake at night and hurt all the time (until I got out of boot and saw a hip Ortho who fixed me. Once surgery was scheduled, knowing I was going back in boot for another 10-12 wks, I knew my poor hip (and back) needed help, so I bought this. It has definitely helped. This leveler, as I’m fairly certain all levelers are, is a bit clunky. Clunky adaptions to clumsy women's shoes is a bad idea, especially when that’s the good foot and the opposite has boot. The straps that secure the leveler need to be watched/checked throughout the day. Despite having the correct size, just day to day motion, with any kind of pivot action through foot, could cause a slight shifting of sneaker in the leveler, which is an accident waiting to happen. This happened several times over the course of a week. I did catch it, that the shoe bottom wasn’t securely aligned on bottom, but I ended up realizing I had a pair of wedge flip flops that I am more secure in, and have been wearing them, more than the leveler. Nonetheless, this product did help, and I would buy again.

I seriously questioned if this product would work and what the quality would be. Let me just say, it changed my life while I have to wear a boot for my fractured foot. It is so easy to put onto my Nike sneaker. I didn't need the extra level that they also send with it. I just needed the basic Even up shoe leveler. It fit my sneaker perfectly. I am a size 6 1/2 sandal and wear a 7 sneaker. I got the small. It is solid and does not shift as I walk. I was worried about that. I can actually walk almost as if I am not wearing a boot! No limp other than stiffness in the leg I have my boot on. But I swear I walk almost as normal as before. My lower back is no longer in pain from walking unevenly. But it's my spirits that are the most healed from this product. I don't feel like a gimp anymore. I suggest this product wholeheartedly. Whoever came up with this, THANK YOU!. And thanks to my podiatrist for giving me the flyer telling me about this. Get it!
