Add some sparkle to your life! ๐ฆ
We wanted to add a touch of sparkle to our refurb and took the plunge with this Holographic Glitter additive. Never having experienced it before, we were somewhat trepidatious. LOCATION: Hall and stairs BASE LAYER: Off White painted onto blown vinyl woodchip type paper. NEW PAINT: 2.5lt Leyland Silk Emulsion - in an off white colour Added; 1 whole packet of Holo Glitter OK so this wasn't for a 10 year olds bedroom and required to be a 'mass' of sparkles. I think maybe for that effect you'd be better off finding suitable wall paper. We were going for the subtle, magical, catch the glints in the light effect. Pour the glitter into the paint pot and stir, really, really well. It helps if there's 2 of you, one to pour and one to stir. Don't get scared! Once you dumped the whole packet in, it literally disappears and you can't see any of it! We applied the paint with a medium roller. We had less issues with any sort of patchiness or needing 2 coats as were were applying a light colour over a light colour. If you're changing base colours or are using a deeper shade you'll probably need to do more coats. You still can't see any glitter at this point.....don't panic. Next you WAIT. Be patient, wait for it to dry off. Not hours and hours bone dry, but wait until it's touch dry at least. Now for the magic. Grab your scouring pad (comes in the glitter pack) and lightly scour the wall. Step back and admire the magic as it shines through. Can highly recommend you cover as much of the floor as possible with dust sheets before you scour! The place begins to look a bit like a Unicorn sneezed and farted at the same time! Once you get the dust sheets up and vacuum round the edges the excess glitter does seem to disappear pretty rapidly thank goodness. Now we just have a nice clean refreshed hall and stairs with added magic, that catches the light as you move about. It's really fantastical and quite effective. Go on, be brave, give it a go ๐

Blitz bathroom
Can you get away with this in your bathroom paint? The answer is hell yes, it just depends on the paint. After reading several reviews and from my own previous experience with this glitter I was a little unsure but needed answers I couldn't find anywhere here so I decided to experiment myself. I had used this glitter with Johnson white bathroom paint 1ltr and put about half a pack in while I could see some glitter it did not shine through the way I had hoped and created an odd blotchy texture. After reading paint glitter works best in water based paints and after experiencing mishaps with another brand of silver glitter in Matt paint I decided to take my chance. Popped off to one of my favourite shops and bought Wilko's cosy grey bathroom paint mid-sheen which just so happens to be water based. I'll be honest, I may have cheated somewhat. I bought another brand of glitter which was silver and the flakes are slightly larger. These flakes almost look like eyeshadow powder in the packet it's very fine and defined. I poured the whole 150g of the silver glitter (which I actually cannot see as much but is still there at a certain angle) into the 2.5 litre bucket of paint and mixed it in whilst listening to Zumba music for about 5 minutes then I poured roughly 120g of this hologram glitter into the paint and mixed, mixed, mixed using a hanger which was closest to hand for a further maybe 3 minutes until it all looked pretty balanced. I poured it in my poundshop bought mini roller set as I didn't feel like overspending for a small job and put some on the roller. I tried hard not to roll over the same spot more then twice to avoid covering the glitter and making it patchy. In the video is the first coat only and does not do this enough justice. The whole entire wall was so sparkly I actually love it. I've done a second coat for safe measures and will give it a buffing tomorrow but this is by far my favourite wall in the whole house now and goes really nice with some tile stickers I got from amazon with similar shimmer. Tips: 1. Prior to putting glitter in the paint do two coats of the paint colour for coverage . I feel like this helped bring out the glitter. My living room has silver glitter with Matt paint but came out patchy. My bathroom with this game glitter just didn't allow much glitter to come through even with a good dose of buffing. 2. You can use it in bathroom paint just make sure it's water based and not a one coat type of paint. I think if it's too think the glitter won't shine through as well as this did. 3. The more the merrier, pile on the glitter into that pot and mix it all up. I ended up adding about 130g of this glitter with 150g of another silver glitter into about 2 LTRs of paint and the result were glittacular ;) Hope this review has been useful I'm off to buy more and see what other paints this glitter can work in. P.S. I knocked a star off as it doesn't work in every paint as I previously had a bad experienced.

Lovely effect, very happy!
Mixed in with Dulux โwillow greenโ silk to paint my bathroom, really lovely effect. Did some with a brush and it wasnโt great (glittery streaks) but when I used a roller it evened it out beautifully. Buffed a tiny bit, couldnโt really see the difference and buffing the wall was far too much hard work so I just rolled it on with the paint and let it dry. Really chuffed with the outcome, little flecks just catch the light adding some interest and panache to an otherwise plain coloured wall ๐๐ผ will definitely use again - I think it will look great on a ceiling!

Enhances a plain wall
Really enhanced and have a little sparkle to an otherwise plain wall. Beautiful at different angles as the light catches the glitter. So easy to use great value for a pretty effect.

Large glitter particles
I had previously used valspar ultrafine glitter which was beautiful and is still going strong on mu wall 4 years later! But they are discountinued. So I tried this one. Itโs definitely shiny but when mixed into a light coloured paint, any particles that donโt buff to the surface remain as dark spots so it dulls the colour from a distance as the particles are bigger. It might look nice in a darker colour. I also like to use Silk paint so I wasnโt satisfied with how much I needed to โbuffโ the surfaces. I hadnโt needed to buff the valspar glitter Good delivery and product packaging though.

Add some sparkle to your life โจโจ
This glitter additive definitely exceeded my expectation and I couldn't be more happy! The buffer it comes with to go over the dried paint does it's job so well and delivered that sparkle i envisioned for my shelves ๐ซถ๐ผ I've completed multiple projects after those and still have half a bag left. I'll buy again in the future, it's a craft staple for me now ๐๐ผ

Beautiful Sparkle That Actually Shows Up
This holographic silver glitter paint additive worked extremely well and gave a much better result than other glitter additives I've tried. We previously used a glitter product from a big box store that barely showed once dry, so we decided to try this instead - and the difference was noticeable. The glitter mixes easily into paint. We simply poured it in, mixed throughly, and painted as usual with a roller. After the paint dried, we buffed the surface using the included pads. The buffing step is important and really brings out the sparkle. It isn't difficult, but can be time consuming if you have a large area to do, but you don't need to apply much pressure for good results. Once finished, the effect is beautiful, especially when sunlight shines through the window and catches the glitter. It adds sparkle without looking overwhelming. What Worked Well - Glitter actually shows after buffing - Easy to mix into paint and apply - Included buffing pads work well - Looks especially nice in natural light Overall, this is an easy to use glitter paint additive with excellent results. I would recommend it to anyone looking to add sparkle to painted walls.
