The Big Book of Weaving: Handweaving in the Swedish Tradition: Techniques, Patterns, Designs and Materials Paperback – Illustrated, August 12, 2014

This is a great book with tons of information, but a video weave along is required. The book says weave in such and such pattern, but then I have no idea of what weave she is talking about.

As the title implies , if you want to know most anything about any kind of weaving - you should have the Big Book. I don't know how I missed this one , after weaving for so long . It's a great reference . It's clear and has plenty of good clear illustration. If I had to choose one reference- this would be it .

Very clear illustrations and text for beginning weavers. The projects are not too hard, but are lovely and there is a lot of variety.The book would be best for someone with a counterbalance or countermarche loom as the warping instructions apply specifically to those types of loom. Though the projects could be done on any loom with the right amount of shafts. Very nice pictures.

Since I am new a new weaver and also new to Vertical Countermarche loom, this book kinda help me more or less understand. I like this book and will recommend.

I've adapted the information to my decidedly non-Swedish 1957 French Canadian 4-shaft LeClerk loom and have had a blast. These changes in my process have really improved both warping and dressing the loom. It's an excellent resource, projects are genuinely interesting. I think it assumes a thinking person is reading it, so if you struggle with yarn substitution or alterations to the plan, you'll have to work little harder to benefit. Novices will benefit.

This is a good reference for a weaver to have. As a novice, I've found myself referring back to this book to help me through many challenges. One thing to note is that metric measurements are used primarily with conversions. There have been a couple instances where this was an additional challenge.

A fantastic resource for back to front warping on countermarche and counterbalance looms. I've been needing a book like this since I purchased my Cranbrook. Extra pleased with the stylish sample projects. Can't wait to dive in to some!

Arrived quickly & well packaged. A wonderful book which appears to cover all the basics & much more besides. I think this is the reference book I have been looking for & will keep handy for many years to come

lovely little projects. I was unfortunately looking for something a little more expansive. The diagrams for simple weaving techniques and equipment seem like a little of a waste of paper. Too simplistic.
