We bought these for when we go on vacation and we don't want to leave lights on all night. We use them on the light we would normally use at night so the house looks like someone is home. They work really well, easy to set with switch for turning on the light so you don't need to up plug the timmer. You can turn on the light as you normally would.

I like the sturdiness of the devices. The mechanical parts work well. I like being able to set up a radio and light for when I’m out of the home to make it look like I’m home.

I am using this timer for a pump in my aquaponics. I set it 15 min on 15 min off and it works fine. It keeps my plants growing healthy.Once I dropped it (not so hard) and it stopped working. Time dial stopped moving(spinning) and it kept the pump on. I opened the back of the timer and checked inside. I found out one of the gears moved and came off when dropped. (This gear looks less stable and easier to come off.) So I pushed it back and positioned other parts as well. It has been working with no problem since then. I'm not a mechanic or that kind of person at all. Its just a pretty simple machine. So if your timer stop working you can try fix it by yourself. It may work again within 10 minutes.

This design is bigger, but good for items that need orientation. Nightlight plugs might direct the bulb towards the wall. This design makes sure that isn't a problem. I bought two over four years ago; one has broken, but the other still going strong.

Silent for more than a month, but after less than two months of use, this began making noise. It is loud enough to hear from 15 ft away in a quiet, but not silent room. It is not an unpleasant noise, but I will look for others given the annoyance.If noise is of no concern, it functions as expected and is easy as pie to use.

Received two timers a day early and set one up. Setup is easy and intuitive. It worked for one day, but on the second day the dial indicating time had stopped moving. Set up the second timer and it's dial does not rotate at all. Definitely not worth it no matter how inexpensive they are.
