HD6 Wireless Speakers with Bluetooth - 150W Powered Bookshelf Speakers with aptX-HD, 24 Bit DAC

Primary use as monitors in a home studio for voice over work. Multiple connectivity options a big plus for these speakers - connected to a digital interface, pc via 3.5mm din, bluetooth to several devices, turntable. Perhaps a USB connection would have rounded this feature list perfectly. Beautifully finished cabinets, quite weighty, I have a big desk so use them as a desktop pair, they are somewhere between a desktop and shelf size speaker although can be stand mounted. The sound quality has perhaps surprised me for its authentic reproduction quality, not at all forward but clear in the treble, decent midband and for their size sufficient bass which could be augmented by a subwoofer if necessary. I use Tidal for high res playback but also lots of iTunes stuff too - these speakers accommodate a wide range of recording quality without exaggerating the faults overly. Frankly, they are polite with no upper aggression. Some listeners do prefer a more forward presentation and may need to compare with other offerings. For finish, looks, sound and features and at a bearable cost these are a very good option to have on a list.

In my opinion the most beautiful speakers on the market at this price range and, to be completely honest, that's why I bought them. They're extremely easy to set up. The sound is very, very good. Especially noticeable at high volumes, where they sound perfectly clear. I previously wrote that these don't have good enough base and need an a sub to help them out. Since then I realised that my expectations were unrealistic putting these on a bookshelf without any space behind them and expecting the bass to come through. Now I've put them on decent speaker stands I stand corrected, these give a great sound even at very low levels. A lot of people like the remote, though I'm not a fan. I find it a little awkward to get the right angle to get the signal to the speakers and it's also a little ugly and poorly made. Overall I love these speakers and am very pleased I bought them.

So I've had these for a several weeks so far. A couple of small issues 1) No optical cable, I knew that already but still annoying 2) the power cable is a two pin so not standard UK plug so had to buy adaptor 3) the current Bluetooth device needs to be manually disconnected before next device can connect, really annoying, any cheap device allows you to override the first with a second 4) sound gets mixed if you play two devices eg Bluetooth about auxiliary in at the same time 5) as there us no volume indicator can't tell where you are at is it 25% 80% can never know having gauge helps 6) I didn't see any security on the Bluetooth- means anybody can connect to the speaker if I'm not connected I haven't played them to the recommended 40hrs yet but sound and music is fantastic so far will come back with a proper sound review later. Because of the loads of small issues I'm gonna give it 4 Update: after a listening extensively I'm coming back and giving it a 5 based on sound alone. Though for certain types of base sounds you will need a subwoofer.

Absolutely fantastic sound quality, I waited until they have been run in which is 60hrs playing to leave a review and these standalone speakers are a great replacement for old hifi systems. Giving a clean tidy look to your setup and delivering room filling sound. Even at low volume no richness of sound is lost. Genuinely a fantastic buy worth every penny. 5 star plus.

Lovely speakers, worked great. Until they didn't. The European branch don't have replacement parts so if something breaks, it can't be fixed. The best they can offer is to email you *if* the part becomes available again. Instead, they offered me a discount on a replacement. Why on earth they think I would buy another knowing that of it breaks out can't be fixed I don't know. Buy from a better known company.

Pros: Easy for BT-audio connect, nice stereo image and sound quality, elegant design, multiple input options. Cons: The bass performance is a little bit too strong. For the powered speakers in terms of the price level and performance, it is an excellent choice! Highly recommend!

Have been using them on a regular basis since over a year. I highly recommend them! The bluetooth connection with computer works smoothly, has almost no quality loss and has no latency. The sound definition is absolutely amazing for music as well as movies and is ideal for a good mid-range home cinema.

Sound quality: These speakers don't come with built in treble/bass adjustment system. So if you're planning on buying this for use with PC, for example, then make sure you have either an additional equalizer device or dedicated PC equalizer program (preferrably the one that comes with your motherboard or sound card) as the sound that comes from these speakers out of the box ir very dull and muffled. But once frequencies are set up properly these speakers sound pretty great for their money. Very clear high and mid range, low end is pretty good too but for ultimate audiophile bass experience I think they still require a separate subwoofer. Also, make sure you have a big enough table or separate stands as their sound gets better depending on position - don't put them too low to the floor, too close to the wall, or too close to each other. Overall, excellent for everyday PC usage (music, movies, games), waaay above any PC gaming speakers, can't ask for more on that front. And a pretty good option for audiophiles too that won't break the bank. Build quality: Very solid overall and screams quality. Remote control can literally kill someone if thrown as it is made of one piece, polished thick metal frame with a detachable circuit board on which resides coin battery slot (rather weird engineering decision). Removable magnetic grills are pretty great for easy cleaning, or you can just ditch them for raw look. No audio ground loop noise detected, they stay silent. Connectivity options: Pretty excellent. Speakers have a variety of connection options - analog, digital optical and bluetooth. Speakers come with bluetooth antenna so this option works great on long distances. One minor gripe is that there is no bluetooth security protocol - anyone can connect to these speakers, your neighbours, for example. Thankfully this can be averted by switching them to sleep mode when not listening to music, or using wired connection as it has priority.

Let me start off by saying I am coming from both Paradigm (studio 20 V5) and B&W (685s) and decided to go for a smaller, simpler setup. I was sort of skeptical about all the positive reviews I've read/watched online, but I liked what I was reading, and I like the idea of a self powered speaker. So I decided to give them a trial. I opted for the cherry color, and they look fantastic. I was surprised by how compact they were, but I am comparing this to other bookshelf speakers I have owned. Others may actually find them large. By the way, the packaging is nice. I love the felt-like bags that everything comes in (and they were double boxed!) So the initial impression on Audioengine is positive. Setting them up was easy, just be sure to put the powered speaker on the left. Plug them into an outlet, and connect them together with the provided speaker cable, turn them on, and connect your source. I am using an optical cable from my PS4, and Bluetooth for my phone. The first thing I did was throw some songs from my PS4 at it. I listened to The Eagles, Metallica, Nora Jones, Pink Floyd, Adele, and some Spanish guitar. The midrange/voice quality is outstanding. Everything sounded clear and natural, especially after breaking them in. I cranked it up a few times, and could not hear any signs of harshness in the mids. There was a little harshness in some of the higher sounds coming out of the tweeter, but not enough to detract from the listening experience. You can easily get lost listening to these. Next, I threw on a few movies. Lord of the Rings, The Mummy, and Despicable Me all sounded great! The only weakness is found in the deep bass. They do open up more after playing them for many hours (days), but you may want a sub if you are into the rattling bass sounds. I'm thinking of adding a sub, but just for movies. I don't listen to deep organ music, so the bass response for music is fine. Finally, I watched Strike Back on Amazon Prime, and again I was impressed. Some explosions were lacking that umph, but again they are only rated down to 50hz, so I wasn't expecting to feel the rumbles. Streaming Pandora and Amazon Prime Music from my phone was a breeze. The quality was good, though I prefer a wired setup for sound over Bluetooth. I read that you can pair up to six devices through Bluetooth, which is more than I'll ever need. I'll set up my laptop and tablet later today. In closing, I am VERY impressed with these speakers. The build quality is nice, the remote is sexy, setup is a breeze, and the sound is lovely. I am keeping these for sure, and I am looking forward to listening to more music on these babies in the future.

Un vrai casse tête avec un Dac audio Engine D2, car les enceintes sont par défaut en bluethoo, et audioEngine donne des explications très douteuses pour régler le problème : aucun récepteur bluethoo allumer dans la maison, le Dac interne se substitue au Dac externe, antenne des enceintes vers le bas, et autres "bricoles" de ce genre. le Dac interne se substitue au Dac externe : complètement faux puisque audio engine lui même propose un Sac D2 avec ses enceintes, pour pouvoir avoir de l'hiles. Bon une fois que les enceintes sont connectées au Lac, alors là c'est un super son HiRes, un vrai régal.

Exceptionally prompt order acceptance and dispatch given the order was placed between Christmas and the New Year. It arrived couple of days late but completely understandable, given the time of year and expected delivery was a Friday. Extremely well packed in three covering boxes. All components accounted for and everything was pristine out of the box. The variety of connection options is superb. Set up was easy. Will complete the 40 -50 hour break in period before making a final assessment of the sound quality. Very happy to this point.
