Potensic Drone with Case, F181DH RC Quadcopter Drone RTF Altitude Hold with Hover and 3D Flips Stepless-speed Function, 2MP HD Camera & 5.8Ghz FPV LCD Screen Monitor & Carrying Case (F181DHBI)

 Bought this some time ago and never got round to reviewing it, made a little video to go with this review.This is a good little drone, and you get a lot of bang for your buck! You get a hard case to store everything in, and inside this case along with hte drone, you get a bunch of additional items. These extra bits will help you get more out of your drone.THere are four batteries in total, and I made sure each one was charged up fully before I took it out for a flight. The batteries for the drone and the screen are rechargeable. The remote control, however, will require batteries, they are not supplied. Which is no big deal really,just 4xAA.When you do get it synced and ready for flight, just make sure you have some open space, especially if you're new to drones. Although easy to fly I did crash it a lot, mostly because of the heavy winds, but probably more to do with my inability to fly a drone.The remote control has two shoulder buttons which when pressed will make the drone do a 360 flip, which is kind of cool. It takes a second to do it as the drone prepares itself but looks good. Pity I didn't get to record a video from the drone's perspective of this.All in all, this was a great purchase as you get so much stuff for the price you pay. They even give you additional motors in case you burn some out, you can just simply replace them. Very pleased with this purchase.

The Potensic drone with carrying case has met most of my expectations in most areas, and in some respects, exceeded what I thought would be the case ..... However, having spent more to get the carrying case ..... I am disappointed that the carry case is not deep enough from front to back to accommodate the Drone without having to remove two of the propeller guards in order to get the assembled drone in the case and close the lid. ...... An extra 50mm from front to back would solve the problem!!! Quite disappointing.I have owned the drone for 7 months and in that time flown it quite often .... Usually for the length of time provided by two fully charged batteries ( around 30 mins) This is about the length of time that my concentration lasts for flying safely. Battery power usually lasts me between 8 and 15 mins per fully charged battery .... The length of time very much dependent on wind conditions and whether taking video of snap shots with the camera.I am lucky in that I can fly in open country .... This is good, in that visibility is good, and also any breeze is usually not variable or swirling such as it is between buildings or trees..I have discovered that the small drive cog-wheel is quite delicate and prone to being easily damaged if the propeller gets stopped suddenly by, for example, having to land in long grass or scrub. .....I have now had to replace 4 of these. ... But no other damage so far.All in all, I am very pleased with the drone.

Fantastic bit of kit. I'm a first time flyer & within mins I felt confident with my limited flying skills. The extra batteries are a god send & although the fpv takes some getting used too it is a nice touch with decent viewing on the 5.8" screen. Delivery as always was very quick with no dramas. Very happy.

So far I am really impressed with this drone - it came with 4 batteries which is a must to add flying time and was easy to set up and get flying. The instructions are in slightly broken English but are easy enough to follow although it took me some time to locate the SD card in the camera body (tucked in at the side). The drone is easy to fly and being able to reduce the power output has really helped my son to control it. The safe mode of return to ground as the battery runs low avoids the usual crashes and protects the drone really well. The camera is OK but could be better but for the price I did not expect anything special (hence 4 stars not 5). The attachable screen adds another dimension to flying and the so far my son (and I to be honest) have really enjoyed flying this neat little drone. The carry case is a bonus as it means the drone is safely tucked up when not in use.

I purchased four of these drones in the first half of 2018. One had a faulty camera which had a slot for an SD card in the case but nothing to receive it on the board inside. I left a review stating this. After some time I received an email from Potensic offering to send me a replacement, though I only needed to have the Camera replaced. They offered to replace it only after I altered my review and sent them a screen shot as evidence. This is not right. The company should please the customer, and then afterwards a favourable review will be left. Here is the most important piece of text from their email:"Could you pls update your review before we provide you a full refund or send you a new product?we will provide you a full refund or new product immediately if you could share a good using experience on Amazon ( review) for your purchase with other people" I replied with screenshots of order numbers from all four drones I had purchased on Amazon along with a request that they replace the fault camera, and then I would alter my review. They have no replied. These drones are ok as a toy and introduction to the hobby, but you would do just as well buying from Holy Stone, or even another similarly priced make. The Potensic is an aged design now and it is not really best, even as an introductory quadcopter, in 2018. I have now moved on to Hubsan quadcopters, which leave Potensic standing and looking rather pitiful by comparison. Quality of the hardware aside, this company do not trade in an honest way and you would be well advised to go elsewhere.

Everything you need is in the case. The drone is very well made and as I am a novice has survived a number of crashes the units has guards fitted round the blades so they stop any major damage. Flying time is good and the screen supplied is very clear. The camera produces good pictures and I am get to get the machine outdoors when I am more confident. Well worth the money.
