HVAC company did semi annual check and said capacitor was going bad and it was going to cost $400 to change. I posted to Quora, people explained it's super easy to replace, and cheap. HVAC company included a photo of what I already have so Iooked up the info and found this. Took me 20 minutes to replace. Just remember to turn off the power at the circuit breaker before working on it. Depending on your set up, may require a socket wrench set to remove the outer cover to the HVAC unit, and to loosen the mounting bolt or screw, whatever it is. It just so happened this is the exact size of the old one, so it was easy peasy. Reading online indicated they can be different sizes and dude on Quora said if the new one is bigger, just use duct tape to affix LOL! he's a seasoned HVAC pro. Anyway, works great. Noticed an improvement in the AC already. Super happy I didn't have to pay the exorbitant amount I was quoted.
