I'm trying really hard to refrain from being smug because I got these for my child at a steal of a price! However, as a child gets older, I believe it can be more cost effective to pay a little more for the quality. We live in an area where winter days are typically in the teens and naughts, so a good pair of boots is essential (warmth, protection, and durability since they are worn nearly every day). My daughter has been wearing one size smaller than my son, even while they are twins, so she gets his boots the next winter. Both my husband and I have Sorel boots that are still going strong after 6 years. These are just like my husband's boots, only lighter in color. We are experiencing an early winter in our area (an indication of a harsh winter to come), my son wore these the other day and he was very happy with them. They are heavy, but not stiff like cheap boots, and come up to the calf. He has skinny legs and the ties close up all the space. The lining is removable, which is an important feature with kids boots as snow gets in while kids play and can make for a festering of stinky feet and possible foot fungus if it doesn't get dried out. I believe this boot will have a good resale value, very well suited to pass down to multiple siblings/cousins/friends. I think if we cannot resell these at a fair price after our kids are done with them, we may donate them to our kids school as there are plenty of kids who come to school with inadequate shoes/clothes for various weather conditions.

I love it very much that as soon as the snow storm came, i started to wear it on and it feel very comfortable, fit perfect and won't squeeze mytoe but after i wear it several times it began to expand a little but it still fit me and plus it keeps my foot well dry from all the slushy street in everystreet corners. i would highly recommend for those who or whom do have small feet if the boot do not fit you on men boot, then i suggest that yougive it a try if size 7 don't fit you then try size 6 from boys boot, i did and it fit perfect on me. I knew that size 7 men boot wouldn't fit because itwould be big on me and that is the true honest, and even if it sound stupid then i'm a living proof enough to show you, my foot should have beenbig but i was burned with a small feet and quite frankly i am sure that i'm not the only one in the world that is burned that way. We all come indifferent sizes and shapes, big and tall up to small and tiny meaning midget people, ok? find. thank you, but all in all i love amazon company.

I am a woman who wears a 7.5 and fit well in average width shoes, but not those that are starting in the narrow range. I realize these are kids boots, so the tad bit narrow for me should be expected. I wanted to like these, but I bought them hoping to wear 2 pair of socks on cold days. Out of the box they were a bit snug with one pair of socks, so I think they would have made my feet cold with 1 pair socks and even more so with 2 pair socks. Great boots, just not for me.

Do not plan on going hiking in these. They are very heavy

Wore these in Quebec, in the winter. My super chilly child not once complained of having cold feet. Allows for thick wool socks without being too tight. I sized 1/2 up for him.

Fits as expected in length, fits as hoped for in width. Boots are wide even though they are sized as regular width, but wide is what I wanted. I have not been able to find wide boots of good quality for my son. Kamik makes what is called wide, but they use much less felt, and put that thinner lining in a medium rubber shell. It does not keep feet warm enough. I finally bought Sorel boots for him, I have a pair of my own already. These boots are worth the price, especially if you have younger children to pass them down to, they will last for years. My son is 9, and we are already in the deep freeze of Minnesota winter in November. He is outside for hours almost everyday running through the snow. He LOVES these boots.

This is nice and warm but heavy...

I love these Sorel's. I already have two pairs (mules and oldish boots) so knew they would accommodate my wide feet and ordered just below my usual size, bearing in mind these are lined but always come up large. I take a UK 5.5-6 but ordered a 5 and it's on the loose side but that's how I like my boots. They are heavy, clumpy and stiff to walk in but that's what I'm used to and I wear them undone (sucker for punishment) so they slop even more!! There's a mile n a half of laces but I shove them down between the removable liner and the outer boot.I'm loving these Sorel's and so glad I opted for the youth version rather than the Lady boots cos the ankles are less defined and suit my style better. They are SO toasty warm, you don't need socks but when the weather gets bad there's room for some thick socks. Oh; and the bottoms are well wp; haven't tried paddling over the rubber bits yet...Update;I've been wearing these for a while now; have to add they aren't designed for hiking... And my only criticism is that the boots were packed flat for some time which results in the tops rubbing against my leg. I now have them stuffed with a couple Thermos flasks to reshape the tops.. and I still love the boots!

Superb quality & price.

I normally wear a child's fit, but these were too small in length and a bit too tight. They look smart, and I think would be good boots, but check the sole for grip before wearing.
