Columbia Sportswear Women's Hellfire Mid Down Jacket

I SO wanted to love this coat because of it's 650 puffer rating and MIRAGE color! I am 5'8" wearing a large. The tail in the back is adorable for coverage. Such a soft light puffy...It personally made me feel like it added bulk to my broad shoulders and it had too much extra material in the upper arms of the sleeves. Really BEAUTIFUL though! (No hood. Full omniheat lining!)

I purchased a small based on reviews, but I maybe would have been better off with an XS as this has plenty roomy even with a thick sweater. For reference I'm 5'2" and 99lbs. This coat is comfortable, even when sitting/driving, and despite how light it feels wearing it, it is quite warm. There is a small inside pocket, which is great for license/cards/cash when I don't want to carry a purse. The hand pockets have a soft cloth lining. I like the double zipper in case you want to unzip some from the bottom. Happy with this coat and would recommend.

Am 5'4 and normally wear a size medium in most things as I like some room. Weigh 138 pounds and am a 32DD and wear 4 in most dresses and pants for reference. This was great for a trip to Ireland in the winter--it was extremely warm. Unfortunately it is quite bulky both on and off and is not easy to pack. I got it for a good price and it was worth it for the trip and cold days in the south.

This coat is a perfect fit for a size Large. It's not too bulky, and keeps me warm. Listen people, if you are buying a down coat, it is not going to be like wearing a windbreaker. There will be some poof to the coat. Compared to other down jackets, this one is by far the lightest (poof wise) that I have experienced. And believe me, I have tried on a lot this season. I love this coat, and I still have another brand in my closet deciding if I'm returning that one. Get the size you normally wear. They fit true to size.

I have been looking for a simple black winter jacket. Patagonia material is way too shiny and a bit flimsy. North face, which is generally the go to brand, is cumbersome and depending on the sale it can go from off black to shiny black to not even black. This columbia jacket hits the mark. Perfect black, zippered pockets, a snug fit, very light yet functional and warm. My only request would be a hidden hood. Aside from that, I have finally found perfection in this columbia jacket!

I took a chance on this coat reading that it's warm with no one giving a location as to where it's considered warm at. I will now tell you that it's warm enough for Alaska! Mild winter, but around 0F. Even during the -20F I expect it to hold up with layering if needed. I ordered a large, I would normally wear small or medium not pregnant but my pregnant belly measures 39in right now and there's room to spare.

I really do love this coat. It's comfy and warm and fits perfectly. Other reviewers have commented about the zipper and I have to agree. It's kind of a flimsy plastic and I'm not convinced it will last a heck of a long time. That's surprising from Columbia. Anyway, I would have given it 5 stars, but the zipper needs improvement.

I love this coat. I looked hard and long for something really warm without looking like a huge puffball of down and feathers.It is stylish, fits perfect and really does keep me warm in a northern climate. I recommend this coat for anyone who suffers in freezing temps. I think it has something to the technology in the silver lining. Whatever it is, no matter. All I know is I have never owned a winter coat as comfy as this!
