The unit synced ok after I figured out the buttons to sync and reset the unit are on the bottom of the unit that holds the batteries. The unit works great, but doesn't have much range and when you want the pool temperature its not instantaneous, you have to wait for your phone app to update.

Works well and easy to set up. Blue tooth is not the strongest communication link, so I had to position on far side of pool to get out of the blocking effect of the pool edge. That was 11 months ago, now not working. Batteries quit, not unexpected, put in new batteries and cannot get unit to connect with Bluetooth. Reinstalled software, still nothing. No help from manufacturer. $50 waste.

Rarely connects to my phone so it is useless. There is no other way to tell what the water temp is by this thermometer unless it links up with your phone.

I have used this now for 3 weeks and it has registered the temp consistently every day. I sit by the pool about 15 ft. to the edge and the unit is on the far side of my 15x30 oval above ground pool. That is 30 ft. It will not read from inside the house, about another 15 ft. more. I am happy that I no longer have to go over to the pool and pull up the old thermometer. It is pretty cool to get the temp on my IPhone. I have taken it apart a few times now and it is always dry inside. Getting the app online was a snap. My I/R app scanned the pic code and the app came up instantly. Nice feature.My only con is the initial opening to put the batteries in and reclosing it, The directions say to place the module into the bottom case by following the A/B marking direction. That just does not make any sense to me as I see no marking on the case and only slowly rotating the module was I able to get it to drop into the aligning slot. The cover screwed in correctly then and sealed tight. No manual available online and the printed manual although in nice color is so small that reading the directions I had to use a magnifying glass to read the print.

Its about what I expected for the price. I think there are several things here that would have cost them pennies and made it a better product. Its in a pool.. add a solar panel and rechargeable batteries.. winner winner chicken dinner but that is a no brainier to me. The bigger improvement would be range of the Bluetooth and overall performance of the app, heck make it wifi enabled. The range is really disappointing. You have to be next to the pool to get it to connect. The whole purpose of this app was so I could stand on the deck or on back porch and see if I wanted to get in the pool or not.

I have been using this floating temperature sensor in the hot tub for about a day now. It floats as expected, stays dry inside, and is easy to use.The product comes with very clear, detailed color instructions on how to operate the device. Connecting my unit to my phone was a breeze and I was up and running within a few minutes. I dropped the sensor in the outside hot tub, and have not had any range issues inside the house.The iOS app displays the current temperature, as well as some historical maximum and minimum data. It takes a few seconds to refresh, but otherwise is very usable. However, I would really like to see this app run in the background using Bluetooth Core Services. Background temperature alerts and perhaps the notification badge with the actual temperature would also be nice. These are well within the realm of what can be done with iOS 8.

Doesn't work. Sent the following to their support no response. Checked their website for more support channels, nothing.Sent 4/7/2016: I just got my unit today from Amazon. Installed batteries, downloaded the app from Google Play, and hit the CONNECT button as instructed. A popup did come up on my phone with the sensor number. I hit OK and the app keeps searching - never finding the RPT.I have them side by side so it's not out of range. I reset the unit and tried the connect again - sensor number pops up but the phone never pairs - keeps searching. I even tried rebooting the phone - still won't pair.I know the bluetooth works - I have a Jabra speakerphone I use regularly in my truck via bluetooth - no problems. And, the phone sees the RPT when I hit CONNECT as the correct sensor number appears. It just won't sync.I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android version 6.0.1.

The batteries lasted only a week. The app interface seemed like a good idea but signal was weak and waiting for app updates was annoying.It didn't work for me and I returned it. The return was quick and easy.

Product arrived on time, easy to setup and works but takes too long to get a pool reading, it takes about 30 secs everytime to update the data on the phone therefore four stars.

Das Teil funktioniert sehr gut, das man nach der App suchen muß ist nicht prickelnd, wer bei iTunes dort zusammengeschrieben rot eingibt findet nichts, nach Recherche im Internet kam ich auf die richtige Schreibweise R P T jeweils mit einem Leerzeichen und schwupps war es installiert, wird übrigens im deutschen Raum unter Renkforce A510 vertrieben, dort gibt es auch eine Anleitung in deutsch.Die Funktion ist einwandfrei.

Hat keine Deutsche Beschreibung, App für das IPhone suche ich vergebens. Spart euch das Geld und schont eure Nerven. lol
