Tamrac M.A.S. Large Flash Accessory Pocket (Black)

A few months ago, I picked up a TASCAM DR40 digital recorder. I wanted to be able to just toss it into a case and drop it into the little duffel bag in which I tote all my other guitar swag (head phones, sheet music, spare batteries, etc.) The problem was that whenever I searched for one, the results were for cases that cost too much for me to afford. So I kept wrapping it in bubble wrap and foam padding to keep it from getting destroyed.Well, the search is over. For anyone that has a DR40, look for the Tamrac MX5383. It is a case for camera flash attachments, but it fits the recorder almost perfectly . . . . for a very reasonable price. If you have a different model or brand of digital recorder (this one MIGHT fit the DR100 or Zoom H4n - you'd need to check out those dimensions yourself), you may want to check out the other cases these guys make. Just search the Internet for "Tamrac cases" to find their site for their different products and detailed sizes. Be careful when you buy any case like this so that you are looking at the inside dimensions when you choose the one that you need. All I did, was measure the maximum dimension of the device, added about 1/8", and found the case that was the next size up from those measurements. When I used this method, the case would be about 1/2" larger all the way around. I figured that I would have to add some foam padding to make it fit snug. Fortunately, a small spiral notepad for taking recording notes fills the gap perfectly. The case has a flap on the back with Decent quality Velcro so you can strap it to your belt without having to remove it and let your pants drop to the floor. A good thing, mostly. It seems to be very well constructed and is already somewhat padded and even has a small bonus pocket under the front cover to hold some of my other junk like spare batteries, SD Cards, and an SD Card reader.This was a good find for me. I really like this flash case! It attaches nicely to my tamrac 4x backpack. Very secure fit with the velcro and metal buttons. The material build is solid and won't shake or move around while hiking. I feel very comfortable putting my Pentax AF540fgz flash unit(s) in the cases (yes, I own 2). My only concern initially was whether or not the case would be big enough for my Pentax AF540fgz flash unit. Based on the specs provided, I knew it would be close. I'm happy to report they do fit the case, albeit a snug fit. You probably won't be able to fit any batteries in the front pocket of the case due to the snugness of the fit. Other flash units, like the Pentax AF360fgz, may fit such that batteries can be put in the front pocket. I just wish the case was a tad deeper. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. If you aren't using the case for your flash unit you can easily put a wallet or cellphone in it. My Nexus 5 phone fits easily. This is a nice case if you're in the market for such an item.

This case is a companion to some of the camera bags made by Tamrac. The case is generally designed to hold a flash but could be used to carry a smartphone or other similarly sized items.What I like about this case is that it attaches to the shoulder strap of my Tamrac "Velocity" series camera bag. This then frees up space inside the camera bag to carry other items such as an additional lense or other gadgets.The quality of the case is great and I've had no problems with it. In fact, I liked it so much that I also bought the Tamrac water bottle holder to go with my Velocity. As with the flash case, it too attaches to the shoulder strap and both manage to stay out of my way when I rotate my bag to take out my camera.Lastly, if you are thinking about buying any of the Tamrac "MAS" accessories - such as the flash case - make certain it is compatible with the bag you have or are thinking about getting. For example, I believe this flash case will not attach properly to the smaller Velocity bags which Tamrac sells.

I was looking for a case for my Nikon SB 700 to place in my camera bag which will go vertical. The included case of the SB 700 is rectangular and doesnt fit in small bags. Instead of using a plastic bag to cover the flash, I thought this case would do the trick. Unfortunately this is really big and wider that the pics suggest. It is more of an external flash case than an internal one. Think about this as a medium digicam case with pockets in front etc. If you are looking for a flash sleeve, I will NOT recommend it. If you are looking for an external case, this may be a good choice if you are OK with the bulk and using it on ur belt buckle.

I bought my Canon flash 580EX which was a display unit at Best Buy. It did not come with a case. I looked into buying the Canon case, but was expensive. I ran into this Tamrac case while browsing through Amazon and bought it. It is much better than the one Canon sales. It has an extra pocket for accesories and a hanging strap that allows me to hang it from my Tamrac Velocity 7 bag as well as from my belt (for off camera flash shooting).Even if you have the original one, you should get this one. Much better for your flash, especially if you are going to take it with you and do not have enough space in your camera bag.

Je l'ai utilisé tout l'été pour y placer mon Flash Cobra NIKON SB 910 (qui est quand même costaud), il rentre parfaitement dedans, la pochette est solide et résistante, elle s'accroche facilement à une ceinture grâce à son scratch. Bref, idéal pour sortir son flash rapidement en toute situation. Je valide !

Veramente ben fatta e protegge a dovere. E' molto più grande di quanto avrei immaginato e può contenere flash di qualunque misura, il mio Metz 44 ci sta larghissimo e se sfruttata bene avanza tranquillamente lo spazio per delle batterie di riserva. Io l'ho fissata lateralmente al mio zaino Tamrac velocity 8X ed ho liberato lo spazio interno per ben 2 focali fisse non troppo grandi.

I'm using a Metz 58-AF2 and this fits just great with a diffuser fitted.For smaller flashes (across various makers)then you really want the medium flash case (SB700, Metz 50 AF-1 and mid range Canon for the medium Tamrac), this flash will just about fit that with nothing attached to it. If you have a medium sizes flash and fit a diffuser then go for this one too (likely won't fit the medium case but check the measurements first)The idea of course it to be able to store the flash with the diffuser attached..so the large case is well worth a look for users of higher end flashes and those who use diffusers a lotNicely made with a handle on top, good quality materials and velcro. You can fit this to your Tamrac case quite nicely or just use it as a belt case if desired. I have both this one and the mid sized flash case, well worth picking them upUpdate March 2014I've since tried a lot more flashes with the case (Large size) and it fits an SB900/910/580EXII and YONGNUO YN-560 II, Metz 58AF-2 and Metz 50/52 AF-1 perfectly with a diffuser fittedI find having the large and medium suits me, but if you tend to have the diffuser fitted most of the time go for the large. You can just about fit the YN560 II into the medium with nothing attached, or simliar sized flashes (it's near enough identical to the Canon 580II size wise)

Mein Tamrac Kamerarucksack wurde einfach zu voll mit den ganzen Objektiven und dem sonstigen Zubehör, da erinnerte ich mich an die modulare Erweiterbarkeit dieses Systems. Also kaufte ich diese Tasche, um mein Metz Blitzgerät aus dem Rucksack an die Seite auszulagern. Die Tasche nimmt das Blitzgerät Ideal auf und lässt sich mittels Klettband und Druckknöpfen stabil und sicher befestigen. Der Blitz ist mit dicker Polsterung vor Beschädigungen geschützt, der bisherige Tragekomfort bleibt problemlos erhalten und es schaut sogar gut aus.Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

La qualità è più che buona (il nylon usata pare piuttosto resistente), e contiene comodamente un flash Canon 600EX. L'imbottitura è appena sufficiente, poteva essere migliore. Acquistata per montarla su una Tamrac Expedition 6x, e anche per usarla separatamente agganciata alla cintura, il nylon è ruvido ma la parte posteriore è correttamente liscia.Una taschina anteriore permette di inserire delle batterie AA di riserva, o la basetta del flash, ma è abbastanza stretta.
