Japanese Vocabulary (Barron's Vocabulary)

I picked it because I like learning new Vocab. That's why I loved it. I would recommend it to everyone studying Japanese.

As long as you don't expect wonders this is a handy book. If you're in Japan and a word escapes you, or you're practicing learning the language and there's a word you think is key that your main learning tool isn't telling you, then it's ideal.

I bought this book for kindle because the reviews were good, but as a serious student of Japanese, it offers me little by not even using kana. If you want to only speak this is fine, but any more than that and you will be disappointed. I prefer Essential Japanese Vocabulary by Akira Miura.

6 000 words. The categories are very relevant : animals are divided into : fish , birds subclasses.Fantastic book. Only it doesn't include kankis or kanas corresponding to the words, only the romaji and the pronunciation. Book don't overlook this one book. It's just PERFECT.A dream vocabulary list !

Although the printed version of this book is very helpful for learning useful Japanese vocabulary and is well printed and a very convenient size, the Kindle version is almost unreadable on my HTC smart phone or on my Samsung Notebook PC. The print appears minute, it is not possible to magnify the print for some reason and the print quality is poor. I would definitely avoid the Kindle version in this case.

The book is a compendium of words organised by categories as human body, sports, etc. Each word is listed in English, in romaji and then with pronuntiation. There are a few pages with graphs and pictures.At the end there is a list of all the words in English and in japanese romaji and kana but it is a pain to have to refer back to this list to find the kana writing.Overall, it looks like a good title at a very good price and it may be a good source of works for the JPLT2
