The Itty-Bitty Knitty Committee (Volume 5)

This guy Scott is SO deliciously twisted! He totally cracks me up! I was laughing at about 1-2 minute intervals and I didn't know my "still in the single digits" nephew was on the couch in the other room listening to me with curiosity. He came in and asked, "what are you laughing about auntie? I want to laugh too!" So I said, come here and i'll see if you like these comics. I showed him a few and i explained them to him and he said, that IS funny!Then a few weeks later, a friend of mine in their 70's asked me what i was laughing at, and she came over, read a few, and she started getting glued to the pages (yeah,i couldn't get my book back from her for a while... ;) then she says, "These are so different and engaging. Wherever did you find them?" And a little while later after dinner she said, Can we read some more of that Knitty Committee book? HaHa! She was hooked too! :)So this comic strip touches the funny bones of ALL ages, you just have to have an appreciation for this kind of humor. Which I definitely do. It's like tasting a new kind of icecream, thinking you've tried every kind there is, and then you find out, NOPE I haven't tried this one yet and man is it GREAT.Thanks Scott. I'm glad there are brains like yours out there!! Cuz you make think. And you make me smile. Great combo. ;) Can't get enough of your comics. I'm reading them like they're Lays potato chips! Keep 'em coming please!

I'll give it 5 stars because Scott's work is always a riot, but I give this Kindle version negative 5 stars. It's horrible. Tiny little images, several to a page, that you can barely read, and this is on an iPad Pro. I recommend staying away from the digital version.

Hilarious! Hilburn is the successor to Larson and Kliban. It's a great gift to young and old alike, IF they have a sense of understated humour. Since this purchase, I have added the other 'Argyle Sweater' collection books to the gift list for the relatives.I recommend i all the Hilburn books.

Thought I was getting a comic book about knitting. Nope!

THE ITTY-BITTY KNITTY COMMITTEE really doesn't have anything to do with knitting, but is instead the third collection (and fourth book) of "Argyle Sweater" comics. Created and drawn by Scott Hilburn, "Argyle Sweater" is the best one-panel strip since "Farside." Recently, a good friend of mine borrowed this book and afterwards told me that, "It's the best "Farside"-type comic I've ever read, but it's different." There are similarities, between "Farside" and "Argyle Sweater," but "Argyle Sweater" is its own creature. My two favorite comics in THE ITTY-BITTY KNITTY COMMITTEE take place on page 20 and page 38. I don't want to give away the gags, but the comic on page 20 involves Darth Vader and some Stormtroopers in a restroom while the comic on page 38 features a witch, a famous yellow with a black zig zag comic strip shirt, and a police officer. THE ITTY-BITTY KNITTY COMMITTEE is a great book to introduce others to the "Argyle Sweater" and it's a must-have for fans of the comic strip.
